It was something to increase blood flow to his knee. It's been reported that he has a patellar tendon issue, the one thing I don't know is if he also has a meniscus problem / if he's ever actually going to be able to run at 100% because this has been a lonnnnnnng recovery process and he is still nowhere close to return to play.Since we're bored out of our gourd does anyone have any guesses as to what Quincey Porter's Friday surgery was given he was already exercising on a bike Monday?
My guess is something like a PRP injection, they inject platelet rich plasma into problem areas, used to be that guys would go to Germany to have it done (Peyton Manning, Tiger Woods) but I think the FDA cleared it within the last 5-10 years. From what I understand it helps a great deal with inflammation but one of our ortho bros could correct me. Im only a lab guy. Can we just get this guy some BPC157 and maybe a little test

The thing i find very odd is the cloak and dagger/conflicting timelines. ISD questions if he'll ever play football again and Marcus Freeman said hes a couple weeks out from getting back to full participation. If they dont think he'll be back until November/December who really cares? Its not like teams are preparing for him to be out there. Just kind of weird IMO. Just being hopeful? Covering for a large investment that may never come to fruition? It was something to increase blood flow to his knee. They need to send Porter out to LA to consult with ND grad Dr. Neil Elattrache if they haven’t already. It was something to increase blood flow to his knee. I've already been accused of playing for Rockne. Now Frank? lolIrish#1, were you guys roomies?
Experimental peptide that has shown to do wonders for injury recovery. Technically not approved for human use. But people have raved about it. Im sure there are even better ones nowWhat is BPC157
This season, updates on freshman talent have barely registered.
“You’re not gonna get instant gratification here or anywhere else,” Freeman said. “So, you got to trust your journey, and instead of comparing your journey to somebody else’s, you got to continue to focus on what you have. And if you want more, you gotta clear your plate.
“And if you do that consistently, you’re going to get more.”
Does he need a passport to visit Tijuana?Experimental peptide that has shown to do wonders for injury recovery. Technically not approved for human use. But people have raved about it. Im sure there are even better ones now
I'm not a doctor but I'm going to guess triple bypass. What's your guess?
It is very readily available on the world wide web lolDoes he need a passport to visit Tijuana?
All I know is that when they brought him in during the winter they were well aware of his knee being very fucked up and he had a surgery in January where the main question was "why did no one realize you needed surgery for 2.5 months?" It was a major surgery, and people at the time were super skeptical that he would even play this season. I said as much on here about pumping the breaks when projecting him as a major contributor for 2026. The projection has not gotten any better, as he is clearly nowhere close to 100% right now.The thing i find very odd is the cloak and dagger/conflicting timelines. You eating too much shellfish or drinking too much beer?I was thinking gout flare up. That limp looked familiar.
You think there's a shot he doesn't play at all this year?It was something to increase blood flow to his knee. And the other question....why was he halfway practicing early in camp???All I know is that when they brought him in during the winter they were well aware of his knee being very fucked up and he had a surgery in January where the main question was "why did no one realize you needed surgery for 2.5 months?" It was a major surgery, and people at the time were super skeptical that he would even play this season. You seem to know wayyyyyy more about this stuff than I do, but I am used to it taking 9+ months from knee injuries to full return to play for my high school guys. He's at ~7 months right now and we're obviously not going to get a straight story on all what was repaired this winter because ND doesn't disclose that.
How could there not a be? We haven't seen him go through a single full practice? Or perform drills without a limp. It should be the expectation that he won't be available until the staff bring him up voluntarily. You think there's a shot he doesn't play at all this year?
Absolutely. They signed him from Ohio State understanding that even in the best case scenario he was unlikely to be 100% this year but might be able to contribute at a position of need. Worst case scenario this was a "long term investment" in a guy that could be a big impact player down the road. You think there's a shot he doesn't play at all this year?
I know enough to sound like I know what I am talking about when I really don't lol. I just find this entire episode fascinating. If he plays, great, if he doesn't, such is life in my opinion. I would just love to be a fly on the wall for what that negotiation looked like. "He's hurt and had surgery but we won't tell you what it was," just doesn't seem like something ND would have entertained. But here we are.All I know is that when they brought him in during the winter they were well aware of his knee being very fucked up and he had a surgery in January where the main question was "why did no one realize you needed surgery for 2.5 months?" We'd have a much better idea of his prognosis if Ohio State's medical staff (or whoever evaluated him) was competent.
That would be an epic failure on behalf of ND IF he doesn't, given that they could have brought in another WR transfer who could contribute on this year's team. How could there not a be? Epic failure is not understanding what the staff took into account and what they were expecting. What if he does nothing until the 11th game and then starts to earn snaps? What if he's an absolute monster next year? That would be an epic failure on behalf of ND IF he doesn't, given that they could have brought in another WR transfer who could contribute on this year's team.
Kid is 2026 Rudy. Gotta get him a touch.
