Sophomore running back Nolan James Jr. reminds me more and more of Kyren Williams every time I see him. He’s bigger than Williams, but the footwork is there and the rare agility is a trait they both possess.

I'm yet to hear a single thing about Absher. Just about every other player not named him. I really don't think he looked that damn bad. Did he regress? Can someone explain this to me?

Denbrock on Premer:

“I think he needs to be pushed and challenged, because he likes that, right? He accepts that, and then that helps push him forward. But there’s also times when I throw him in the fray in a situation or something where he’s just, like, lost, because he hasn’t experienced it before. And I’ve got to put him in those positions and let him fail, so he can grow. But as we get closer to game time, we’re going to have to define a little bit more of a role for him instead of letting him fail when it really matters the most.”

Definitely getting the push him because you know he can be great treatment it seems. Maybe because he is the TEs Coach technically but the let him fail thing is different than the quotes on young RBs, WRs where it seemingly is well if they don’t know the playbook they aren’t gonna play (yet)

Denbrock reportedly said Jeffrey is the 5th WR in the rotation

Graham, Gilbert, Greathouse and Faison as the clear Top 4. Frazier and Burress likely to round out the rotation.

*Porter out
Who’s to say how much Jeffrey actually sees the field, but his first step is absolutely disgusting….would be fun to see him make a big play every now and then.

If these "information dribblings" are correct, I'd bet that the insertion of Prescod is an earned Wow series of days in practice, where he demonstrated a big jump in power and protection and dynamic play (rather than a "hit" by the staff vs anyone else, like Abshur.) I saw that same "what happened?" power playing in the film we got of "game" play when Prescod was in the BG "practice." He was effective+.

If this has been maintained, then you have one more upper level OLineman ready. Guard or Tackle. Again, I don't see this as saying Abshur is not good. Just that Rudolph is looking for great.

As to the freshman backs: the comment on their stumbling performances on blitz blocking shouldn't surprise us. ... and tells us who are top 3 RBs are.

Agree, someone getting elevated or more reps shouldn't necessarily be an indictment on another player.

Black and Lambert have never taken a competitive snap at LT or RT and they have gone tape to tape as LT and RT in camp, never ceding to Prescod.

Absher is a returning (rotational) starter at RG and is ceding snaps a week before the game

It doesn’t have to be a mountain of an issue, but clearly it’s not nothing.

This is absolutely an indictment on Absher. Augustine, Craig, Otting, and now Prescod. He’s getting passed up by a new player basically every other day. If Augustine didn’t break his foot, this “competition” would be over.

Absolutely nobody has been talking about Nolan James since last year. Do we think he's a real threat in the RB room now or is this just talk?

I bet Augustine is practicing by end of Sept. No info but there was some posters on ISD researching the 5th meta-whatever it is and it’s a 4-6 week thing following shortly.

Caveat it’s a 300 pound dude who will have to wear ballerina shoes so who really knows.

I think he’s high floor but lowest ceiling in the entire group of 5. But you can win a title with a guy like that if everything else is firing. He’s a Blake Corum clone.
