True. This seems to indicate we're at 93, and it's hard to see how we lose eight to medicals or normal attrition. But at least a few of the more likely transfer candidates probably have their degree (or will soon) and could GT.

Thought Freeman said that ND would be funding 95 scholarships. I could be wrong, but the issue is that the total roster number could be 105, if the judge rules on the revenue sharing proposal. She told the parties to try to work something out so that players 106-120 are not suddenly out of a "job." The talks have been about grandfathering this year, and over the next 1-3 seasons, whittling it down from 120 to 105. If the 105 number holds, ND has to "cut" about 11 guys. (One of the podcasts mentioned ND was at 116, post Urlacher and Angeli.)

We will probably lose some players, but I am surprised we haven't heard more about which players may go. ND may have til tomorrow to put the info out, but it seems social media would have some inclination, from the player or the player's representation.

right and if players are looking for opportunities other places, it doesn’t help them to wait I wouldn’t assume.

Strangely quiet.

Trebor Pena to PSU. They appear to be all in for 2025.

If Allar takes a step, they really could win the title. Crazy.

They could but despite what they bring back, Warren and Carter were just so important to their team. Hard for me to see them being better than they were last year without those two given how much attention they commanded on each side of the ball.

They have a criminally bad out of conference schedule and really only have two hard conference games. Somehow their path is even easier than last. They are basically guaranteed a playoff spot based on that alone

Keep in mind he said ND is funding 95 schollies…….other schollies could be picked up via NIL, etc.

Last night was the deadline to have players listed in the portal (after Friday's deadline for players to inform of their intentions of the portal), correct?
Weirdly quiet.

Quiet, yes, but as noted earlier, in most cases if guys were gonna go they'd have gone by now. There are a few who have their degrees who you could still see jumping if they land on the wrong side of a depth chart battle. But we have a good culture and seem to invest in retention, so if you're in the mix to play, why leave? And if you're gonna leave why wait til the last minute?

Also, sneaky good point in the Rakes Report this morning, on transfer rules and the battle for QB2. Hadn't thought of this at the time but it makes a ton of sense, if you're the coaching staff.

3) That meant either Angeli or Kenny Minchey would be the odd man out. If you’re keeping Carr, is Minchey a better complement as more of a runner? If you think both Minchey and Carr have proven their floors in practice, do you also want to maximize potential upside? The other factor is that once Angeli graduates, he can enter the portal at any point. Minchey will not have that option until December. This arrangement would avoid the situation of “Carr gains momentum as the clear Irish starter over summer, a starting position elsewhere opens up, Angeli takes it, true freshman Blake Hebert* is your backup quarterback on a team with postseason aspirations.”

Apparently there was some confusion on the deadline as it involved the term “business days” so it is actually Tuesday…….so we fans have to sweat it out for a couple more days.

I get this, but it doesn’t seem like ND would be the type to hold off till the last minute for these kids

Also, wouldn't we hear something from the kids social media accounts at this point, if they had to submit the paperwork by last Friday?
