the tables turning so much on coaches is funny to me, BK giving 1 mil to NIL fund and Norvell basically handing back money to FSU to keep his job
its like they added a step to firing them....used to be, you had to clean house with coordinators....now its step #1 get rid of coordinator/coordinators...that doesn't work, step #2 force coach to hand back some of his money to NIL and hit the portal full go....that doesn't work step #3 fire your ass

The moment there is a cap on this the moment we're right back to things being the way they were pre NIL as far as paying under the table to gain an edge.
Disagree because it only limits the schools can pay. Outside NIL groups can still operate and pay players. I would fully expect FUND to stay at work for example post House, in addition to ND's internal collective.

Did anyone listen to the II podcast? John Brice made it seem ND has commitments from current freshman in the portal. Unless I misunderstood his comment

So can anyone confirm what positions and how many we have locked up yet? Don't need names just would like to know.

No because there is nothing to confirm. It's all message board conspiracy and rumor.

The team added DB Devonta Smith. That's confirmed.

We know the staff needs to address interior DL and likely 1 or 2 WR, other than that it's all speculation.

So we need:

1-2 DT
1-2 WR
0-1 QB
1 CB/S
1 NB - Devonta

As of now and prior to any TP announcements: our LB room is healthy and stacked, our OL room is stacked, our RB room is loaded, our QB room has unproven upside, our TE room is mostly filled. Is Mitch for sure jumping to the draft? Or would he be interested in coming back?

I think we should grab a DE, I doubt Boubcar or Bothehlo are healthy first few weeks.

Did anyone listen to the II pod? I don’t know if we are talking a qb or not. They make me go back and forth

Not to dwell on the negative but given how nuts this portal cycle has been I am VERY curious to see who might depart.

We've really lost very few two-deep contributors to the portal the last few years (Diggs, I guess Buchner, Rico Flores. No one we didn't easily replace.) which I think is a good testament to our program's culture and willingness to pay proven players. But this year at other places it sort of seems like all bets are off, and everyone's chasing bags, and you have to think a few of our guys would at least test the waters. Hopefully we step up with counteroffers. And I like to think a playoff run will help, for various reasons.

IIRC, Bothehlo tore his patellar tendon which is worse than ACL tears in most cases. I’d be surprised if he was ready to be effective by mid season. Hopefully Traore‘s on a fast track w/ his rehab. Either way you know media will get our hopes up by alluding to them being ready early in the season like they did w/ Evans this season.

When Evans tore his ACL vs Pitt last year, most figured he be back in a year. Next thing we hear is he’ll be ready for start of season. Meanwhile, he’s not looked like the Evans we expected until recently.

Hopefully we don’t lose anyone important seems like the culture here is different and winning cures a lot I could see a guy like Price leave but I could see him stick around as well. He doesn’t seem like a guy who minds sharing the rock.

Possible historic game in less than 48 hours and you concern yourself with possibilities of happiness or disappointment dependent upon who from other schools may or may not come to ND?
