Cover had Cam Williams. I’m expecting break outs years from Williams, KK Smith, Gilbert, Williams, Thomas, Jack Larson, Tae and HobbsSIAP![]()
IRISH INTEL: Sources are raving about development of young Notre Dame players
Which young Notre Dame players have been impressing? Blue & Gold has the intel after talking with various sources.www.on3.com
He also said Gilbert wouldn’t play much and most of the media guys picked him to be a breakout guy this yearMerck stated a few weeks ago cam Williams is struggling to grasp the play book. A breakout season might be far fetched if that's the case
The jersey scrimmage is the real contest.spring games are a waste of time. for years i've been begging for spring scrimmages with other teams, similar to what NFL does with joint practices.
Best part for the teams is getting 1's vs 1's and 2's vs 2's, etc.

Josh Pate has made a living giving out lukewarm takes with no substance that just have some slight nuance to the main narrative and shouldn’t be taken seriously
I like Minchey with wheels + experienceI think the long term ceiling is higher with Carr or Minchey winning the job, but I think next year’s floor is higher with Angelli. I’m fine either way to be honest, leaning towards Carr winning the job
How can anyone say this with confidence? We've barely seen Angeli play much less Carr. Angeli got a starting nod and a handful of snaps sprinkled in last year.Agree. With the schedule next year and how good our RBs and Oline should be, I honestly think the difference between Carr and Angeli would be 1 loss, possibly zero. It kind of sucks that our schedule is tougher in the beginning then the end because it would be hard putting Carr out there for Miami and ATM with no experience. I just hope that if MF has Angeli start the season he would ease Carr into the role and not just stick with Angeli the whole season for loyalty. It would be very nice to have Carr as our starter for the playoffs.
But, But...... His "model"....View attachment 3058338

Not at all what I was saying. I know they are not close to the same. I prefaced my point with how good our OLine and RBs are and other then two games our schedule is a cake walk, Angeli should have almost as many wins as what Carr would have. I at no point rated them the same. I was just making a point that even under Angeli we should win almost every game. How can anyone say this with confidence? Carr looked, to my eyes, amazing in the spring game but it was a spring game. The delta between one QB and another is almost guaranteed to be higher than that. Rarely are QBs interchangeable. It's not just the typical factors we think about but game management/clock management/down & distance/processing under pressure, etc. Plus all of the tangibles: arm strength, accuracy, timing, athleticism, pocket awareness.
If you rated each of these items individually for all 3 QBs, they'd undoubtedly wax/wane based on the category but it's highly unlikely they'd all end up at the same grade, it's probably unlikely they're within even a few points of each other and those things determine a great deal about the outcome of games.
Done with my lecture. I trust the coaches to evaluate fairly and aggressively to help all of them put their best on the field. I just hope like hell we get a few 30 sec clips so we can explain why X player is obviously winning the race.
