How would he even classify as '25, didnt the final signing period already come and go?
It says the final date of the regular signing period is April 1st. With that said, nobody has to sign a NLI. He literally could just show up for the first day of classes.

Regarding J'Vari Flowers (from Singer)

Auburn, Miami, Florida & ND are the teams still in contention. From various sources across the different programs, nothing universal stands out about where they all think he ends up.

Auburn people feel it's Miami. Miami people feel its ND. Florida has no clue, and ND believe its 50/50 they get him.

Singer thinks Miami is where he will end up (and where he truly wants to go), but NIL is important regarding his decision. Flowers is expected to give a private commitment soon. Commitment date of March 31.

---------

Two things to unpack here....
1) From the way it was worded, it appears ND is offering Flowers more than Miami.
2) If he commits to ND, he picked money over his heart. I don't think ND should get into those type of recruitments. ND has to be the right choice in your heart, head, gut etc.

100% agree on the last part. You need players to buy into Notre Dame and the culture first before you get them sold on NIL. If you don't get the buy in on the first part they will leave or decommit for the second part.

It might not be (only) money…..could be he knows that the ND coaching staff (Mickens especially) may be offering more and the best move from a development standpoint but maybe he has been a lifetime U fan.

I hope that's the case because I otherwise agree with the previous posts that if not, then he will be nothing more than an ND mercenary vs. being an ND enthusiast and will be gone within a year or two.

I mostly agree with this, but I also think that the current culture at ND could take a kid like this and mold him into a ND kind of guy. The fact that different people have ND as a true contender tells me that he isn't a 100% mercenary type of kid even though NIL is very important to him.

I am just hoping this is a sign we are willing to pay kids. His ranking is weird because he reclassified, but he could be good.

Watch his junior film, he looks like a future first rounder . 100m state champ in Florida, could be our day 1 kick returner

If we are offering more than Miami not sure how Flowers doesn't end up here with Mickens track record. He will be a NFL player if he comes here

Agreed but I do think the current staff places fit as a very high priority which, for the most part, lessens any fear I would have.

Agreed. Merck basically said that ND is going to do more vetting of the players, particularly those who are top-tier, to see who is a good fit for ND and genuinely open to being a football player that actually has to go to class. Those are the players that they'll pay for. JaDon Blair and Madden Faraimo fit those descriptions in last year's class. Blair hasn't played a snap and appears to have a good NIL deal and ISD implied that ND stepped up to keep Faraimo away from USC. Between what's going on with Dunham, O'Brien, Osborne, and Flowers, it looks like what Merck said is accurate. Whether or not they get those players is another story, but there's no doubt that ND is offering bags to top-tier players who are true fits. I trust the staff.

The whole point of stacking talent is that you let the cream rise to the top and if someone leaves... they leave. Either way, you have a stud playing at the position.

Furthermore, the plus side of NIL for the team is that if the kid comes for the money, chances are he isnt going to walk away from that money either.

Watching the highlights of this young fella, I couldn't help but think of a Ronald Darby comp.

Just elite speed and quickness that makes it look like everyone else is running in quicksand.
