I always had a feeling that Kenny was being counted out too much. I wasn't expecting him to win the job, but I also respect the fact that he responded to the competition and flat out won the job. I just hope now he plays well enough to keep it

Merk didn't delete his profile. Guy wanted to stop being followed everywhere so he had us delete a bunch of former posts that would trace back to him. That was in the works days ago.

He's still around but didn't want to be brought up constantly.
A bunch of, but not all? Was this deleting of posts a suggestion by a third party. I’ve got a lot of questions and I want the truth!!!

Couldn't he just not respond? It is an anonymous message board after all.

JMO, but given Carr has the better arm, it sounds like he might have been trying to prove himself a little too much with forced throws, which of course leads to TO's. Maybe he will see the field at some point this year, but every coach wants to keep mistakes to a minimum and let the other team beat themselves. You could tell Kelly was big on that always calling for a fair catch on punts and KO's.

I think Carr has the jitters. I didn't want to believe it. But I think he does. And if he was truly forcing it with "harder throws" then he was over thinking it...because, again, jitters.

Assuming the rumors are true, Carr would be well advised to not transfer IMO. In the absolute worst-case scenario for his playing time, Kenny is a fully healthy two-year starter. I think, after two years, Freeman would take the approach Sark took with Ewers last year and indicate that they want to move forward with the next QB (i.e. Carr). He'd have two years to start in that scenario. There are other noteworthy QBs who have benefitted from being patient in similar situations. Nussmeier, Beck, and (maybe) Arch come to mind immediately.

I don't see Hebert or Grubbs jumping him and Jarrard would be a freshman in 2027.

I can't say I'm not a little disappointed, but I'm fully behind Minchey. Carr seemed to be the chosen one, but may end up eerily similar to long list of once touted ND QB recruits who never amounted to much. I hope he still is our starter someday.

This means that not a single heir apparent QB recruited by the Kelly and/or Rees regime won and kept that starting job

I don’t care who it is as coaches will pick the better of the two! However a little shocked if Carr isn’t the guy! He isn’t as athletic as we all know, but was very decisive and quick with throws during spring game. Kenny seemed to struggle a bit with where he wanted to go with ball. He must have made big strides. So good for Kenny!
