Really? Tell me more about Indiana. Next you’re going to tell me they’ve got a delicacy there called a pork tenderloin and that the best pizza in the state comes from Fort Wayne…
I was born there. Still have family there and visit them. So frankly you are a dunce

Most important thing about this is that once again it shows that the better TEAM wins

and almost as important is that it shows the claims about you have to have 5 star players to win Natty's is obsolete

Just tried to articulate the same sentiment to my wife and just came off as an asshole. It’s like when the Vegas Knights went to the Stanley Cup in their first year of existence. “You people really can’t care about this?"
Yeah but then us Knights fans had to suffer 4-5 more years before we finally climbed the mountain top.

The "Notre Dame wins a mens basketball title" comp is a good one here.
IU winning a championship in football is a fun one-year story but it doesn't feel earned. They have a lot of fans but their main sport is basketball. And whenever Cignetti moves on they will revert to what they've always been, just like we did after we peaked in basketball about a decade ago.
They're a tough and well-coached team who caught a transitional moment in college football. Good for them. But I doubt it lasts.

And that Som a na bitch Coogan got his natty, just not from ND. Who woulda thunk?

He did give his all and really fired up the ND OL while here so I can't say I'm not happy for him.

Having to take the deep solace that at least it wasn’t a team from the SSSEECCC.

(The grapes are all sour for me tonight)

I think it depends on regulation. If the money keeps flowing they keep winning.

This feels like massive cope tbh. Florida didn’t become a one and done, and if Indiana wants to stay competitive there’s no reason it can’t…huge alum base and I imagine tons of new money after this.

Indiana isn’t located in Florida. Lots of schools have large alumni bases and plenty of money. Cignetti is clearly an excellent coach but he won’t be there forever.

I’m not saying they go back to being old doormat Indiana, necessarily. But they benefited from some wrinkles in the rapid evolution of the game this year, and the big powers will catch up. I’m not clear what advantages Indiana has that keep them at the top of the sport once that happens.
