Besides the shameless dig, it’s not like that at all. The punter doesn’t drop it upon snap. He catches it fine, goes to punt fine, and then just….doesn’t.
The ball still didn't seem too far out in front of him to have just kicked it when it came out of his hands... probably no more than a couple of extra inches away from where it would've been if it hadn't slipped out. He seemed to have panicked instead of just kicking it a bit out of his comfort zone. A bad punt would've been better than no punt at all.

Honestly rematches should be avoided at all costs in the playoffs.
In a way it’s not really fair to Oklahoma. With two somewhat evenly matched teams it’s always difficult to win them both so the first win almost becomes meaningless or feels that way. For Alabama you going with nothing to lose but everything to gain and it becomes a get back game as opposed to Oklahoma I could see it being less motivating even though it’s a playoff game. It’s harder to get up for a game you won, as opposed to a getting up for a game to a team you lost to. This wasn’t anything like Texas Tech v BYU in that BYU had no chance.

Seriously, fate owes us big time in 2026.

I've lost count of the number of games that ND really needed to go their way in the past several weeks and almost all of them went the other direction.

Just when we finally were going to get some vindication as Alabama crapped the bed, only for Oklahoma to come in and remind us they also didn't deserve to be in and it was clear as day while they struggled to get by more bad teams.

But that's just gonna come off as ND fans being salty, instead of using those 2 googly things embedded in your skull and watching this trash heap take place before us.
With that said, I now expect Miami to blow the doors off aTm. Why? Because ND fans want the opposite to happen. What clinched it for me was when Prister & Brice said they trust Elko to take care of business. Which is perfectly sound reasoning. Just think it’s one of those years where everything goes against ND (or their fans wishes…LOL).

Rooting for A&M. Probably comes down to how many mistakes Beck makes. I think Beck finds a way to lose this game.

Reeds legs against these oversized DL of Miami is an equalizer. Honestly was a good argument for Minchey in that specific matchup

Reed's legs may be a problem for Miami. Always been impressed with this part of his game. Better qb play and turnover battle wins this game like most football games. Sickening we're left out but this will be a good game.

Does Indiana have any notable injuries? -7.5 seems low to me against Bama
They lost a stud defensive linemen Stephen Daley in the Big 10 championship game. I think the spread is fine. Simpson can still sling it and IU has minimal playoff experience other than the thrashing we gave them last year. Bama's playoff experience and pedigree speak for themselves. I know Saban is gone but still think it's meaningful.

Is there any continuity between this bama team and ones that were actually successful in the playoffs? Without common coaches or players, who cares?

Of course I’d rather ND be in the playoffs, but I’m enjoying the toxic position that ND would boatrace all the playoff teams that have played thus far. Forever so many what ifs from the first couple weeks.

Got it, I'd still take Indiana to cover but I see where you're coming from

I'd put money on Alabama. Way more talent than Indiana and Indiana isn't some juggernaut. I think Indiana will probably win but if you played the game 100 times I think most of those games result in Indiana winning by a touchdown or less... or Alabama winning.

Simpson, Kayden Proctor, Tim Keenan III, and Deontae Lawson to name a few were all under Saban. How did that work our for OU last night losing to this team at home as they are 0-5 in the playoffs? Of course this isn't Saban's team anymore but don't act like he didn't leave some imprints.
