The biggest evidence of SEC bias is Michigan being 21. Well they lost to an SEC team so clearly they are better than Iowa, Washington, Nebraska and USC. They beat Nebraska and Washington so fair. But why are they behind USC? Why is Iowa unranked by comparison, a narrow lost to Indiana? They are all two loss B1G teams, but the one with a SEC loss is ahead of the others. Texas ahead of all of them! Michigan is going to be in a win and in scenario against Ohio State which feels insane.

I agree to some extent but OU is possibly the best opponent has left, and i do still think LSU is probably a better team than Pitt overall assuming they dont quit on BK down the stretch which is very possible. Auburn has also lost 4 games, all close, to top 25 teams. They are better than maybe anyone left on NDs schedule with the exception of Pitt which would probably be a toss up.
Umm they already quit on BK look at the second half last night

I’m not sure there’s a clear argument as to why Oregon is above 6 other undefeated/1 loss teams
As far as I can tell, every advanced stat that tries to capture actual quality of play has Oregon #1 or #2 among one-loss teams.

I'm not sure those exist. Everything seems to point to Indiana and OSU being the top teams.

??? Check your own post history from today ???

Both Sagarin and FEI have Oregon over Indiana. That’s not even the point, there is no need to point towards advanced stats in the AP Poll this late in the season.

Yep, you're right about Sagarin. They have Oregon #2 and Indiana #3. I'm fairly certain I've said nothing about FEI, though. That's not even updated yet.

ND is 6. Top 3 is Indiana, Ohio State, Oregon.

How much are these rankings taken in to the consideration by the committee?

Is SP like RPI/NET in basketball, where they look at that more than rankings and stuff?

Freeman is a great coach but he’s horrible the first two games of a season. We’re in week 9 now, however

It's hilarious that this brainworm hot take has perpetuated itself all across the unwashed masses of college football. These idiots are completely ignorant to the fact ND plays 8-9 P4 teams each year and that's why they're considered a P4 program and get special bowl tie ins. Doesn't stop every idiot and their brother from regurgitating the "ND durn't bewong in the pwayoffs!" mantra. It's fine if a Mountain West team gets in having played 0-2 P4 teams, but damn those Irish if they try to get in!
