Yes, word is she is burned out on coaching and is looking to do something else. Won't stop people who take any chance they get to blast the current staff, though.
I can see being burned out and wanting a couple years rest doing commentating, etc.
The staff has seemed to be pretty good; not great but good enough. The problems this team has comes from the HC.

So the portal is officially closed but players who entered can still sign. What does everyone think? Are we done? I feel like we need at least one more experienced solid contributor in both the post and guard positions. The freshman are very talented but they are freshman,
They were known to be after Addy Brown, but she committed to UCLA today. Unknown who else may be on the board.

Getting that Princeton guard was huge. We badly needed a vet presence to take the ball off Hannah's hands a bunch. On paper this player is better than de Jesus by a significant margin (though I doubt not compared to the level where Vanessa ended up.) We still need "physical presence." Both Cass and KK were MAJOR physical presence. Freshmen CAN be but that's rare. Abii seems close.

They better not be done
depends on how many of the freshman are "hits" and can enter the rotation right away. But typically Ivey underestimates how many players she needs and ends up short. Injuries, etc.

I'd really like to see one more transfer or maybe an international signee.

Lots of smoke with Madison Booker on campus today wearing ND gear and posing for pics w/ Coach Ivey/ Hannah and also inside the stadium. No way that she is…, ?!? Yes, I realize portal is closed. Is there still a way?!IMG_4913.jpeg

Traditional transfer = no possibility as the portal is closed.
Grad transfer = Theoretically possible, but would mean Booker has to graduate in 3 years. No Early Enrollee, doubt she did summer courses.

I'll give it a 5% chance.

maybe she entered the portal without making it public and gave the irish staff a silent verbal and it just hasn't been made public yet

I seen a golf cart Saturday parked out by Morris Inn that said women's basketball on it, then seen it again and told my daughter that it looked like coach Ivey was in there probably with some recruits.

Just a comment about one of our ex-players: The Washington Mystics (with our favorite girl of two seasons ago, Soni) played Caitlin Clark and her bombers tonight. Washington won in overtime. Soni was great and scored around 30. But what I want to mention is my favorite unsung player of last year, Cassandra Prosper. Some here even devalued her, but I thought that she was one of the best glue and effort players I'd seen. Some doubted that she'd even be drafted. I thought the real coaches would notice, and Washington took her reasonably high. Cass doesn't start on this team, but she comes in as a defensive terminator and energy person. She did that tonight. What impressed me most was that when the game was on the line, almost all the 4th quarter and OT, that coach wanted HER on the floor AND guarding Clark. (When Cassandra couldn't be on Clark, the team wanted SONI on her by the way. Clark WAS noticeably slowed by them, but not by anyone else so she still scored 30. ) Cass is good. The kind of good that every coach wants. Soni is the quietest GREAT I've ever seen. Amazing. It was a real pleasure seeing them both out there and winning.

Soni was also .5s away from ending the game outright on an incredible half court buzzer beater!

Agreed. Great game.

Cass had started the previous two games. She was the only bench player last night with a + rating for the mystics. She will probably rotate in and out of the starting lineup depending on matchups.
