This isn't college. She doesn't have to "recruit". These people die to get picked.
Really? in this day and age a lot of them are blase about things. This is not an Olympics year and the National Team is not what it was; and this is not THE national team anyway

The women seem to be peaking at the right time. ESPN Bracketology had them as a 6 seed going into Louisville. That win I'd think bumps them to at least a 5.

Seems like they’re starting to find their way. Good time to do it.

A. Hannah playing somewhat smarter as she matures;
B. Cass deserves a medal for selfless team play;
C. KK doing all she can; de Jesus shooting more confidently;
D. still no answer for teams with bully girls (Hannah and Cass still lead rebounding.)

I'm not seeing Hannah as being Atlas-Girl in many tournament games. Commentators comparing her to Caitlin Clark as far as carrying teams "alone" in NCAA tourney are morons. Clark had 4 other VERY competent vets on those teams.

As an aside, Ivey looked stress-drained in face. ... just wondering .........

Hannah absolutely took over the 4th quarter and too much a degree the entire second half. If she wasn't scoring, she was creating opportunities for her teammates. If she wasn't getting steals, she was getting rebounds. That was a great win yesterday. Always love when we can beat Jeff Walz.

comparing any current players to Caitlin is dumb; generational player. Hannah is a great player, but not in Caitlin's class
We will see if Ivey learned anything as the tournaments come up. IF she was able to get the team to peak NOW an play AS a TEAM now then maybe last years epic collapse was worth it

On another note: ND is 5-2 agains the top 6 teams other than the Irish. Only team they did not beat was Duke. Beat NC, Syracuse, NC State, V Tech and Louisville (split). A number if good wins on their resume.

I’d like to see them get at least a few wins in the ACC tourney.

Some wins in the ACC tourney WOULD be nice. I'm hoping for it, but my reason tells me it's a coin-flip every game. (and I see nothing but a loss vs Kara Lawson; a great coach who I saw coming before she hired --- wish we'd gotten her.) Hannah and Cass/KK/deJesus CAN beat everyone else, but they can also beat us when only Hannah is scoring &/or the opposing coach sells out defensively to make Hannah "stop her dribble" and give up the ball. I would hard hedge on all screens for Hannah until the ball is stopped. We don't have the offensive skills elsewhere to make that pay percentage wise.

I think it would be tough sledding to get 2 or 3 wins in the tourney. I find it hard to beat any competitive team a second time in the same calendar year. And NC St.'s coach is no joke. He'll have his team ready. Our depth issues also don't spell out success in a tourney with no rest days.

She should be. Toby Fournier is also considered a strong contender from Duke. Hannah is averaging 20+ points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 5 steals. I think only one other player has averaged that in the history of the game. In my opinion, not only should she win ACC POY, but she should also win National POY.

Hannah will almost certainly be ACC POY and an All-American. NATIONAL POY though? She's the best TALENT but might not get that. I'm betting the voters (whoever they are) pick someone from one of the big teams. The UCLA giant center is set up for it, but I wouldn't be surprised if one of the UCONNs got it (like Strong.)

That's why I said should. Too much politics for it to happen and give it to a person on a team that doesn't finish in the top 25. And I stand corrected, she is the second player in both men's and women's history to average 25 points, 5 boards, 5 assists and 5 steals. But I still believe that kind of stat line that puts you in the record book that way should earn you National Player of the Year.

Unless they blow a 20 point 4th quarter lead, they’ll be heading to the semis. Nice to see one of the basketball teams put something together.

There should never be a down year at a program like ND with an established HC. But unfortunately, that’s what this year was supposed to be. They had rough stretches, but overall I think they’ve punched above their weight this year. Next year should be much better (hopefully)

Arike punched a dude and got arrested for it lol.

From The Athletic, light on details as of yet:

Ogunbowale, who plays for the Dallas Wings in the WNBA, was arrested at 4:22 a.m. on Thursday outside of a Miami nightclub, per a copy of the police report. She was later released on bond. The police report states that Ogunbowale, who was being escorted out of E11even due to an unrelated altercation, punched a man with a closed fist and he fell to the ground. The police said that they reviewed CCTV footage and confirmed the victim’s statement. Per the police report, Ogunbowale was taken into custody without incident.
