Now she needs to prove she can develop the players and manage a team! I'm sorry but consistently capping out at sweet 16 with the talent she's had really doesn't cut it!

Has her last official visit is to Kansas this weekend.
The early signing period for basketball opens on Nov. 12 and lasts through Nov. 19.
Obviously she doesn’t have to commit by the early signing period, but I’m assuming she will.

Just watched some of the last game on You-Tube. Chicago State was not much of an opponent sadly. They had very poor ball skills and no real challenging "big" either. So we just rolled on cruise control. So ... I learned almost nothing. Hopefully the next game (a MAC opponent) will be more revealing, and then Michigan (a high ball-skills team.) (I'm counting on you guys to have insights that I can't.)
What I see now is a team with Hannah (hopefully not-to-be-overworked) plus a blooming Cassandra (she has always had the attitude and athleticism), plus a determined KK (who seems to be our most physical player.) Both the other starters have good qualities but do not seem to be able to be counted upon for scoring offense. Our new big is not that big. She seems very smart and willing to work, but I really doubt the physicality. In fact, I fear greatly when we see truly physical teams that only KK might be able to compete in the meat house. Even Cass (as our "power forward" ... ouch ... ) doesn't seem right for that job.
These currently benched people better turn out to be physical. Cassandra and KK are college "Three's" in today's upper echelon game -- they are NOT "Four's". I'm pessimistic on a cure for this. Also, I find that true second teamers from last year's team are counted on to be the second and third best players on our team, and, with Hannah, the leading rebounders. (I realize that our center CAN rebound; what she is is a disciplined smart player who will get the uncontested and slightly contested ball. I did not see her muscling out people for the contested ball.)
Michigan, because they are a guard-superior, guard-driven team (three good ones) might be a good match-up for us. Hopefully they have no thug hidden in their line-up.

When you have a roster of 8, you’re bound to have deficiencies( I know we got Ratigan and Smith, but I find them to be glorified walk ons). I personally think it will be a miracle for us to finish the top4 of the ACC, and tough sledding to finish in the top 8.

BabyIrish, you are always on the ball, for which I am sincerely grateful. I just wish that one of these transfers would have been a climax rebounder (even if she couldn't shoot a lick.) If we had ONE climax rebounder, all our defensive excellence and hustle would result in negative trips by the opponents, not put-backs. Nothing is more depressing during a hard game than working your butt off, outplaying the enemy, and then them just getting the off-shot rebound and laying it in anyway. (Hope my pessimism on this issue isn't real.)

It’s real. Our post defense will not hold up and rebounding will be an issue. I could see Ivey going lots of zone this year but that won’t help the rebounding. If Hannah gets any type of injury we are surely doomed.

Cowles is tall enough, but has no history of bulk rebounding. Maybe she can be convinced to wade in there.

I saw Maria Jilian from Western Michigan University get 10 steals in two different games. She was the best I'd ever seen, male or female, at this. Hannah's 16 is a boggler. Maria used to utterly terrorize opposing point guards, to where they'd throw the ball to anyone else to avoid the consequences. We have seen Hannah like that too. (We are going to need her a "little" less energy-expending in the average game to last the season, however.)

Time to bench Ivey. She gutted this program by transfers out. We’ll see if she can keep the recruiting class together. Overall she is not a good coach. We can do better.
I heard some really bad things about her and how she spent the NIL money

The game was unwatchable. We are really below par for a ACC team. It would not surprise me if we won very few games in the league.
Why?
A. No one on this team can shoot. Almost from any distance. Astounding.
B. No one on this team can rebound. (Michigan is NOT a big team, nor a particularly physical one, but they sort of played around on the boards getting anything they wanted. Michigan IS a good team, but they should NEVER physically dominate anyone with their mid-sized line-up.)
C. Stopping Hannah, if you have decent athletes, is rather easy --- just stick with the picks and double team. Since no one can shoot, there is nothing to release the pressure.
D. Cass Prosper and KK Bransford made big efforts so no shade on them. They would be 4th and 5th options on decent teams, or maybe sharing the time as the 5th options. I don't see anyone else who would get on the floor on a decent team.
This is going to be really bad, I think. This loss was the worst point spread loss for any ranked ND team in history. ... awful.

The recruiting has picked up. Not sure whether that is her or Pat, but that is the one thing that has changed for the better recently.

And, as to that: Bigs. We're still short-ish compared to power programs.
I looked at the TCU roster to whom Miles transferred. They have FOUR scholarship athletes 6'6" or taller.
