The selection process does need some tweaking to it. I'm not suggesting that Alabama, Ole Miss, or South Carolina should have gotten in, but it hasn't been perfect yet.This isn’t as bad if they SEC didn’t make such a stink about the playoff selection process.
For example, I'd argue that 2023 Georgia was the best team in college football; however, they didn't get a bid. In terms of this season, I'm okay with Indiana and maybe SMU (I struggle with that one) getting in over the aforementioned three SEC schools. Ultimately, I don't think a 3 loss team deserves a bid, but the seeding this year was jacked up. For example, I think Notre Dame is a much better team than Penn State. Yet, Penn State gets to play SMU and Boise State, while Notre Dame was rewarded with Indiana and Georgia. The selection process, as it currently stands, is flawed and needs to be adjusted.
