Only thing I see in regards to the transfer portal for us is that California 6-3 forward Marta Suarez has us in her top 4.

... this shouldn't be this important to me, BUT I would REALLY like some good roster-addition-news.

It's like waiting for the Captain of the Titanic to at least announce that there are enough life boats.

And ... feeling that way ... I think it would be appropriate for Ivey to give the ND community some calming information.

... even if it turns into bullshit.

UCLA just lost their entire freshman class. So, this isn't just an ND problem, although I understand that Ivey probably didn't help the situation. Go get some players.

We'll see if it's a "good" analogy or just an unpleasant one.

For my mental state right now, it's just what I feel.

Brain says we're too big to actually "sink", but that doesn't stop the bad vibes.

Saw Ivey was announced as the Big Brothers Big Sisters Gourmet Dinner guest speaker this year in Fort Wayne. I’ll make sure to ask the hard hitting questions during VIP meet and greet

I thought it was Erin's House she was going to be at. The Bus is at the B.B.B.S Gourmet dinner....first time tickets for the low price of $400

Happy for the news that there is some movement. Cowles is (or has been anyway) a back-up center type player (sometimes starter --- started all games in previous year; about half last year so a regression in playing time), 6'3" who apparently can't shoot except for right at the basket. She DOES know how to make a close in shot though without blowing it. An OK rebounder but not a dominant one. Probably can't score more than about 8-9ppg. Ironically probably played her best statistical game last year vs Notre Dame. One would hope that we get better as the rebuild goes, but happy that something at least seems to be starting.

Any chance? That would be one heck of a backcourt. I didn’t love her game but, at this point, we can’t be picky. Can’t deny her talent. At same time, Dawn Staley seemed to not be able to reign her in.

Go for it! I'm sure she will be sought after by everyone so who knows if she will want to leave the south. Does anyone know if she has played on Team USA with Hannah?

I don’t think she’s done anything with Team USA but…they are the same class. They must be acquainted somehow.

I don't disagree with this assessment, but other than 6'3" vs 6'4", the exact same things could be written about Watson, and people were acting like losing her was a big deal.

That player has to be an unhappy person. She scores at a very high rate, but can't get playing time over about 18 minutes. Now in comes that big ACC scorer Latson and she's got to believe time will be even tighter. So the question is: why didn't Staley play her more minutes?

Soni's team needed both a point guard and a two guard, plus a best available big. They had picks three, four, and six, and got all three needs. Soni got picked number three, which means that she was the one they most wanted. This team is still not structured to do a lot in the league (no dominant player), but they did get who I believe to be the cleverest most already-professional point guard, Georgia Amoore. My opinion is that the team will play good basketball, but is a true Star away from competing at the top. The big is that USC big (Iriakin?) who is a real roughneck, so she'll help in the meat house.

Two other notes: Maddy Westbeld got drafted (Only 39 do; HARD to get drafted in this league.) I was surprised.

This shows that even at the pro level, some managers still look only at the scoring, or worse, the scoring "potential."

IF Westbeld pans out, this says something not so good about the ND staff. If she doesn't, then no blame to ND.

BETTER NEWS: Liatu King got drafted!!!! :D Yay! and many cheers!!! SOMEONE in that league HAS been watching.

When Liatu had no mask, she played like a clear All-Conference small forward. I'll bet she makes her team and plays some.

So, ND gets THREE drafted, one other who would have been number three, plus Hannah. Hmmm... How'd we do?

Marta Suarez has chosen TCU to transfer.
The guard from Utah- Gianna does not have ND in any of her official visits.

Congrats to all 3. But this makes Ivey’s coaching look even worse.

Last year, only 9 first rounders and 4 combined second and third made a roster for a total of 13 out of 36 draftees. There is an additional team this year, but the odds are not in their favor.

Risch and Watson both made it official today. Risch to FSU Watson to Villanova.
Some were thinking that one or both might stay, nope
