I want to talk about this for just a minute. First off its very debatable that Ewers was the better QB and deserved the job, Card put up better numbers then him.
Pyne is not close to Card, lets just look at some numbers.
Pyne throws an interception on 2.3% of his throws compared to Card 0.9% of throws
Average yards per completion 8 for Pyne 8.6 for Card
Completion percentage 64.6% for Pyne 69.4% for Card
Card Averages 2 more attempts per game and 2.5 more completions
I wish I could find a stat comparing passes batted down
Card has way more confidence in throwing and a much stronger arm. Card spreads the ball around to more receivers instead of just looking at one target on every throw. If Pyne didn't have Mayer this year his stats would look much worse
