IF Rees is planning on moving on to the NFL, does he really care about getting a high quality 2023 QB?

“Spartan Tailgate sources were notified last week that MSU was looking to move in this direction for a period of time now, but the staff wanted to let Edmundson to come to the same conclusion on his own and take his time making the subsequent announcement.”

“I'm hearing that MSU will begin by going to great lengths to attempt to flip 2023 five-star QB Dante Moore, a Detroit (MI) King product who is currently committed to Oregon. Obviously, this won't be an easy task and expectations should be tempered. Not only are there justifiably enticing incentives available to Moore if he were to enroll at Oregon, but the Ducks have also had a lot of success during the 2022 season. On the other hand, sources emphasized that MSU won't go down without exhausting every resource here.”

Uhhhhh a lot to unpack here from the MSU site.

So they moved on from him to throw bags at Moore? Interesting.

Good luck with that, Sparty.

Is Bo Edmundson worth taking a run at? He's tall and from Texas like all our WRs...

The timing of an MSU QB decommit is rather interesting. Rough week for those jagweeds.

He is purchasable. It's whether they put up the cash or not. Of all the Big10 schools, MSU is the dirtiest and wouldn't surprise me at all if they start buying players.

i havent really seen a reason to. because he was once committed to a regional P5 school we should be interested?

That or the fact that

WE HAVE NO FING QB

Either that or you were joking. I don't know, but you can't be serious or didn't watch his film.

He's not a capable high school qb. This one isn't the answer
I know absolutely nothing about this kid, was just making a joke. Should have put it in italics. However I did see in the article that Michigan St pushed him out, so that should be a sign.

1 - i obvoiusly dont know if Carr is reclassifying or not. So we may or may not have a qb.
1a - even if he does i still think its worth taking a second guy
2 - with all that said above. Just because someone isnt committed to regional P5 now doesnt make them an immediate candidate.
3 - I could like his film and still think #2 is true (he doesnt seem that special to me, but he would be welcomed in the class, see 1a)

we just sit on our laptops and type. What if this kid has turned down camp invites for years. What if we reached out and he isnt interested. What if theres some non-football issues we arent aware of (i mean the kid was gonna go to MSU, two threads over people are calling them the dirtiest program in BIG) Truth is, none of us know jack shit.

None of us would even know this kids name if he wasnt getting processed by MSU. That certainly doesnt seem worthy of getting worked up that ND isnt involved.

i also find it funny the number of people complaining about how "we are ND" and therefore only elite level QB recruits should be expected, yet were upset that the 800th rated player in the nation and not even a top 40 QB isnt getting a phone call.

IIRC, someone posted fairly recently that ISD was convinced Carr will not reclassify and remain in 2024. If he were to reclassify I think you only take him. Carr would make 5 QB's on scholarship next year along with Pyne, Buchner, Angeli, and RP3, and considering that we badly need a grad transfer I can't see them also taking a 2nd QB in the class and having 7 QB's on scholarship next year.

There was also the recent hinting about a QB prospect that everyone assumed meant reclassification.

Only the staff and the Carr's really know at this point.

RP3 is typical ND nepotism - albeit nothing compared to Rees - and is a waste of a scholarship.
Are we sure RP3 has a football scholly? I’m thinking since RP is an ND staff member, RP3 may have a different type of scholarship that doesn’t count against the 85 limit.

He injured his back and it seems he’s never been the same

Yep, this right here. State fans on r/cfb said that has been coming for a while and the guy might try to go somewhere else or might never play football again.
