TBH, I don't know if there were any haters. Might have been a couple, but you have to give the coach a couple of years to get the transition in place. Especially when you follow a legend. Looks to me like Ivey was the right choice.Has anyone who hated on Ivey (despite her extensive assistant and NBA experience, and being asked to do a full rebuild...) mea culpa'd? I don't follow women's basketball closely enough to keep tabs on the vibes, but to lose Mabrey (and then Miles today) and still be a top 10 team // ACC champs says something.
There are probably (hopefully?) many similarities between Ivey and Freeman.I was never a hater of Ivey. I loved the hire and thought she was the correct choice. Although, she did give me some pause when she was a little slow out of the gate. Muffet didn’t exactly leave her a roster without talent. Apparently she just needed an adjustment period and she’s doing an awesome job now.
Is the norm these days to just double down on whatever opinion you held and yell until people just get tired of listening to you. Then you can maintain you were correct because no one is responding. If she wins a natty or 2, then in 10-15 years doesn't make it out of the sweet 16, they will come back out of the woodwork and proclaim that they were right. It isn't really a societal norm of punditry, sports or otherwise, to admit wrong in 2023. I highly doubt anyone that was hating on her before is going to walk it back now.
Horka called him out on Twitter and included the video. The guy was at peak douchiness - wasn't sure about her name, incredulous from start to finish that she won, wrongly said ND was favored to win the ACC from the beginning (they were 4th in preseason poll), and a whole lot of other nonsense.didn't see it but Mark Packer from what i've read made an ass out of himself this evening at the ACC awards show by going on a huge constant rant about irish coach Ivey winning COY as he thought the Duke coach should've won it. Miles and Citron were named 1st team while Maddy made 2nd team and KK made the all-freshman team

Michaela Mabrey also chimed in and rightly called him classless, to which Packer douchily responded that he was just expressing his "opinion" - hey, asshole, this was the official ACC CoY announcement. Your opinion was not needed nor welcome. Also, your opinion included not knowing how the winner was selected and wrongly asserting ND WBB was favored to win the ACC from the beginning.
The guy is getting dragged but needs to be dragged much, much more.
We are the outsider. The ACC is in perilous waters and many believe ND could help rescue or turn the tide in the conference if they joined in full. The answer to that is a loud hell no, but it creates angst and anger.Bigger issue to me is the ACCN announcers all seem to treat ND like some king of outside force trying to take over their beloved conference. I've watched a number of women's games (can't bring myself to watch the men) and the broadcasters always seem to be overtly rooting for our opponent. Packer's just preaching to the choir.
Depends on the swelling. Although, I think we would know by now if she tore her ACL. I'm not expecting her to play in the conference tournament.Reports from practice today are that Miles did not practice, in attendance and walking with a limp. No crutches.
If she has a torn ACL wouldn't she have had the surgery this week?
Sean who does the call for irish wbb on radio said yesterday while hosting the nightly IB podcast with Vince that he knows the situation about Miles but isn't allowed to say and then said that fans will find out come game time fridayReports from practice today are that Miles did not practice, in attendance and walking with a limp. first team to 50 pts might win as the play is really sloppy like you said but sloppy with both teams right nowLadies are sloppy with their ball movement and causing turnovers. Just need to settle down a little.
Miss state is pressing a lot early.
That game was downright hard to watch. Bad officiating, horrible shooting, and just overall sloppy play. Lucky for them that MSU just couldn't hit the broad side of a barn today. No bench really hurt the Irish...They only played 6, and you could see them wearing down as MSU just harassed them all day. That's the worst game I've seen Citron play all year, but I just think she's mentally/physically exhausted from basically having to do it all since Miles went down. Ebo definitely won this game for the Irish, as they just couldn't match her physicality.Hard fought win. Not pretty but they didn’t give up.
