just saw a article on social media from sports writer Hanson on this girl but he also talked about Lauren Betts who visited last week and said that it looks like she wants to stay out west. don't know where we go if we don't get Betts

Some twitter smoke that Stanford transfer Lauren Betts was on campus. She’s 6’7”, a former 5 star, and has at least 3 years of eligibility.

Adding her to this roster? Good luck to the rest of women’s college basketball next season. They’ll need it.

Committed to UCLA. Damn.

Goes from a school with championship potential and elite education to a school that is guaranteed to not win a championship and a shittier education. Hard to make sense of that one.

She's a lot like Dara Mabrey. Might make a good 3rd guard/ zone buster but isn't going to play 38 minutes a game like she did at Fordham.

The sell is actually pretty easy and it makes sense. UCLA is coming off being Pac-12 tournament runner up and a Sweet 16 appearance and is only losing 1 minor player from that team. The loss to South Carolina highlighted UCLA’s dire need for bigs, so playtime is there. UCLA had the #1 recruiting class in 2022, so Betts is just adding to an already good class. At Stanford, she'd be playing minor minutes at center behind Cameron Brink or out of position at PF replacing Kiki Iriafen on a squad that's retooling after losing point forward Haley Jones. Would I have liked to see Betts in an Irish uniform? Of course. But if she was determined to stay on the west coast, UCLA makes the most sense.

Koval was wanted badly by all the powers of wbb like UCONN, South Carolina , Stanford. and a 5 star like the post from dublinirish says. 5 star now true freshman Hildalgo and Koval on the floor that the same time will be lethal against our opponents.
