Anecdotal but I’m not sure I buy the recent narrative of “there is no shy Trump vote.” A few stories from someone who is from Luzerne county PA (maybe the most important county in the US this election):

1. I went home for a fundraiser a month or two ago and it was the first I’ve heard from people saying they actively lie or tell pollsters to leave them alone. One guy said he gets calls every other week and he always lies and says he’s a Biden voter.

2. I don’t know anyone at home that is switching from Trump 2016 to Biden 2020. Conversely, I probably know 25+ Clinton or 3rd party voters that are now going Trump.

3. The ANTIFA / BLM stuff has really alienated people from the left (at least in my life). I know about 10 registered Dem women that are voting Trump because they feel the Democratic Party as a whole has a platform that is way too progressive. Things like reduced police funding, trans conversions for minors, renewed lockdowns and national mask mandates... all this is alienating for many and is mainstream Dem policy.

4. The same women above are literally afraid to say they voted for Trump. All are active on social media, generally well educated, up to date with pop culture... your basic white chick. And they won’t ever say they are even considering voting for Trump.

Again, all anecdotal but TIFWIW.

This is all true in Schuylkill County as well.

No lines - I was #133 cast a little after 10AM in our very blue district. More volunteers than voters.

I think Trump loses PA unless there is a large chunk of registered Dems who side with him. Florida/Georgia/North Carolina look red to me. Without PA, Trump needs to get two out of AZ/WI/MI/MN probably in that order of likelihood. Very slight edge in AZ that I don't trust, WI/MI look similar to 2016 in a lot of ways. MN I throw in b/c I would like to think those riots smacked some sense in to some folks there not to play around with their third party candidates. Odds aren't much worse than MI/WI. NV/NH in the same ballpark but I'm not buying that.

Im still reading about this but 300,000 ballots have been scanned in at USPS and not been delivered to states where late deliveries likely wont be counted. Judge order them to be identified and sent on today.

A.) Bush 43 will probably be the last genuinely good person we have in the white house. Anyone calling him a war criminal is an idiot and thats something I'm comfortable telling people to their face. Perfect? No. But objectively a good human? Yep.

B.) I'm pretty sure each of the last 4 guys to run on the Republican ticket have been called nazis, homophobes, racist, etc. Republicans get trigger happy with calling folks commies too, no doubt, though I'm a bit young to remember if Kerry got called one regularly or not. Same with Gore though he's went off the deep end a bit.

C.) I think every single prominent liberal politician has called for an "assault weapons ban" which when you look at what makes a gun an "assault weapon" it looks an awful lot like any semiautomatic rifle. Many others have advocated for national registries.

To quote Lindsey Graham from the Keg City hearings to Democrats, "You said that. Not me."

What is clear from their efforts is they seem to want people to be able to, at most, own a shotgun or a long rifle for hunting. I'd anticipate them working on handguns after the "scary" guns because getting rid of AR-15's and mini 14's isn't going to do anything to stop gun violence.

D.) On the gay stuff, yeah I don't get too in the weeds on that. Whatever Republicans do, they will get shit on for not doing enough and frankly I don't think there is any reasonable things left to do. They wanted gay marriage, they got gay marriage. They wanted to be tolerated in society, they got that. But like the Divas they are (cousin of mine who came out has borderline shunned the family for NOT making a big deal out of it) they need to keep looking for injustice behind every door.

A) Being a "nice guy" does not make someone a good person. GWB/Obama seem like nice guys, but you ask anyone from the middle east their thoughts on those two. Drone striking hospitals and continuing the destablizing of the middle east is horrible.

B) Sure, but I didn't hear anything for Bush/McCain/Romney as far as Nazi/racist stuff. GOP'ers and old Dem's get in trouble for past views on stuff like gay marriage and race stuff which tends to lead to those kind of labels.

C) Not gunna touch the gun stuff, I just can't wrap my head around it. Like asking a blind person their favorite colour.
