Agree. She improved. We know what we are getting with another 4 years of Pence. People wanted to see her handle herself.

I watched with my son and wife. My wife made several comments on this. So did my son. They were both turned off by it. So was I. He also came off as condescending and haughty. She seemed more relatable and passionate.

I was waiting for Pence to answer the tough questions but he rarely did. Neither answered the abortion question, but he refused to speak on his COVID response, did not answer the peaceful transition of power (concerning to me), hi answer on the Breona Taylor case contained a "but" (he lost me there). Most of his responses were the standard GOP tropes on taxes and economy. Not really something they can hang their hat on but he trotted it out anyway unsurprisingly as that is their only dog whistles left.

Thought the opposite. Especially when Harris had that silly little grin telling her made up President Lincoln pack the courts story. She thought she had that gotcha moment like she just spoke to Honest Abe before the debate when in reality some intern checked Wikipedia five minutes before the debate and screwed it up. Or maybe her Canadian schooling taught alternative American History.

The amount of hyperbole that is conveyed is astounding. A political ad airing I saw included a senior Hispanic female who was beginning to cry because she did not want her country to become socialist in electing Democrats. I thought of the federal government programs from which she, her family and all of us may have benefited, especially in difficult economic times.

Did we become a socialist country when the plurality of Americans voted for a Democratic candidate in 2016?

Lol... you, or the Dems, calling out hyperbole is about the richest thing I've ever seen from you. And that's an extremely high bar you just passed.

The majority of my friends are Trump hating Dems, but most, if not all have voiced concerns of the rising socialist elements on the left.

Maine Senate Race - Ranked Choice Voting

Maine Senate Race - Ranked Choice Voting

For those without a binary brain, Maine has a voting system for you - ranked choice - which could determine who their next Senator is. Susan Collins (67), seeking her fifth term in the Senate. Collins won her last race with 70% of the vote but is now in a dogfight with Sara Gideon (48), Maine's Speaker. Polls show Gideon slightly ahead but neither will probably get a majority, unless it is Gideon.

An independent, Lisa Savage, admits she would not be in the race without Maine's ranked choice voting system. Savage, a teacher, advocates progressive policies - a single payer health system, the Green New Deal, student debt relief. She is also advocating that people voter for her first and Gideon second on their ranked choice.

On a national level that would be like having Biden, Bernie and Trump as options and voters ranking their top two. That's one way of loosening the grip of a two party system and including more candidates for a voter to choose.

Trump is deeply unpopular in Maine resulting in Biden having a 15 point lead. Only 37% of those Maine voters polled approved of Trump's performance. Collins has sided with Trump on the major issues when push comes to shove. Dems have been putting up signs "Trump Collins 2020" in yards to reinforce that. In a poll during Trump's impeachment, fifty-three percent of Maine voters said Trump is guilty of abusing the power of his office for his personal benefit by withholding military aid to Ukraine in an effort to push the nation to announce an investigation into a potential opponent in this year’s election. Collins voted to acquit Trump, saying that Trump's behavior would change "I believe that the president has learned from this case. The president has been impeached. That's a pretty big lesson."

Collins says she supports abortion rights but voted for Kavanaugh, which was unpopular with some who previously backed her. In a poll at the time, Maine women opposed Kavanaugh by a 20 point margin. They have been among major supporters of Collins in the past. Collins told reporters that “We talked about whether he considered Roe to be settled law. He said that he agreed with what [Chief] Justice [John] Roberts said at his nomination hearing in which he said that it was settled law.” Kavanaugh voted in the minority that a Louisiana law restricting abortion providers should not be struck down.

With Coney Barrett's nomination hearings getting underway, Collins' presence on the Judiciary Committee will again remind Mainers of the Kavanaugh vote and be hard not to see a Collins vote for Barrett as anything other than a vote to eliminate Roe v Wade. Especially if Collins again says that Barrett told her Roe v Wade is "settled law". Collins preferred not to hold confirmation hearings until after Nov 3 as do 65% of Mainers in a recent poll. She'll be forced to choose before the election on a matter of importance to Mainers.

Collins also has the baggage of being a Republican Senator whose party has not been able to deliver any coronavirus relief while pursuing the elimination of Obamacare. In an age of polarization, Collins says she is not in favor of the lawsuit to eliminate the ACA.

Unbelievable. If he didn’t have the virus what could explain such a politically suicidal decision?
How is that politically suicidal? He's an incumbent. Everyone down there knows him and its a presidential election year, so its not like people are going to forget to to vote.

If he was the challenger, sure, then you gotta do everything you can to get your name out there.

Their desperation to pack the supreme court.

LOL, yes only the Dem's could call filling an open seat packing the court. Meanwhile the Dems are actively proposing truly packing the courts all in the name of Ginsburg who was quite vocal that should never happen.

Their desperation to pack the supreme court.

Words matter when it comes to that phrase. "Court packing" as we all know, as much as some in the media or Democrat party might try to gaslight, is creating new seats to be filled.

People can agree or disagree with what the Senate is doing, but its certainly not "court packing" just like Barack Obama nominating Merrick Garland was not court packing.

Bombshell from the NY POST this morning-

Biden-Pozharskyi-email.jpg

The customer who brought in the water-damaged MacBook Pro for repair never paid for the service or retrieved it or a hard drive on which its contents were stored, according to the shop owner, who said he tried repeatedly to contact the client.

The shop owner couldn’t positively identify the customer as Hunter Biden, but said the laptop bore a sticker from the Beau Biden Foundation, named after Hunter’s late brother and former Delaware attorney general.

Photos of a Delaware federal court subpoena given to The Post show that both the computer and hard drive were seized by the FBI in December, after the shop’s owner says he alerted the feds to their existence.

So the FBI had damaging evidence validating the Burisma scandal during the entire impeachment. Never surfaced it.

Less than eight months after Pozharskyi thanked Hunter Biden for the introduction to his dad, the then-vice president admittedly pressured Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk into getting rid of Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin by threatening to withhold a $1 billion US loan guarantee during a December 2015 trip to Kiev.

“I looked at them and said: I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money,” Biden infamously bragged to the Council on Foreign Relations in 2018.

“Well, son of a bitch. He got fired.”

Shokin has said that at the time of his firing, in March 2016, he’d made “specific plans” to investigate Burisma that “included interrogations and other crime-investigation procedures into all members of the executive board, including Hunter Biden.”

Joe Biden has insisted that the US wanted Shokin removed over corruption concerns, which were shared by the European Union.

Meanwhile, an e-mail dated May 12, 2014 — shortly after Hunter Biden joined the Burisma board — shows Pozharskyi attempting to get him to use his political leverage to help the company.

The message had the subject line “urgent issue” and was also sent to Hunter Biden’s business partner, Devon Archer, who also sat on the Burisma board at the time.

We also now can directly point at blatant lies being told by Joe Biden on this topic. He likely will also opt to not address this before the election.

Last December, Joe Biden also lashed out during a Democratic primary town hall event in Iowa, where a man accused him of sending Hunter to Ukraine “to get a job and work for a gas company, he had no experience with gas or nothing, in order to get access to * . . . the president.”

“You’re a damn liar, man. That’s not true and no one has ever said that,” Biden fumed.

Biden then continued berating the man as he stepped forward, called the man “fat” and challenged him to “do push-ups together, man.”

The FBI referred questions about its seizure of the laptop and hard drive to the Delaware US Attorney’s Office, where a spokesperson said, “My office can neither confirm nor deny the existence of an investigation.”

But wait, there's more!

Other material extracted from the computer includes a raunchy, 12-minute video that appears to show Hunter, who’s admitted struggling with addiction problems, smoking crack while engaged in a sex act with an unidentified woman, as well as numerous other sexually explicit images.

So to those who laughed at the idea that crooked Joe was selling influence and access to make his loser kid rich, I would like to revisit that discussion. Joe is a liar, corrupt, and should not be President.

So the TLDR

1. Burisma's #3 asked Hunter to use his influence to impact Ukraine gov's treatment of Burisma, and Burisma's owner.

2. Hunter then facilitated a meeting between Burisma's #3 exec and daddy 7 months prior to Shokin's firing.

3. Shokin is fired after pressure from Joe.

4. Joe says he never talked to Hunter about anything Burisma related. I guess arranging a meeting between Burisma's #3 and daddy doesn't count.

5. The FBI knew all of this back in Dec 2019

6. Hunter continues to set new heights for stupidity

7. Some still cling to the "but Hunter did nothing wrong"

The important part is that Joe lied and demonstrated a clear disregard for ethics and conflict of interest in his handling of this matter and prioritized his sons bank account over his job in serving the American people.

Oh I agree. But that's the bare minimum of this whole thing. It also means Joe was complicit in selling access plain and simple by even meeting with Burisma's #3. It also lends credence that the Shokin firing was an output of that access.

But yes, at minimum, unethical and a stone cold liar.

Can't wait for CNN and MSNBC not to cover it, and not ask questions about it lol.

My only question... Will there be anymore October surprises?

A reminder that this was dismissed as a debunked theory by many on this board and considered to be in the OANN space of conspiracy theories.

Not so much, apparently.

One thing I haven't seen discussed from either side, is the long wait times at polling stations? Is this something that happens regularly for you guys? or is it infrequent? Most I've ever waited is 10 min max.

I just don't get it.

Yea, not so much.

Those same people dismissing Biden stuff, are also the same that held onto what we now know to be BS from Steele, who's source and subsource we now know classified their own BS as just rumor... And one who was actually under investigation for being a Russian spy himself.

Its by design. GOP voter suppression. I live in a what was once a +15 R district in SC and my wait times are less than 30 minutes. We have 6-7 machines operating at any time serving less than 35000 people of which less than 10,000 vote for general elections.

These wait times are the GOPs last gasp effort at reducing votes. I have always wondered what my right leaning friends think of these tactics to suppress a legitimate vote. But its not the only trick going on right now.

The California GOP is putting up fake drop off boxes that look official,

Texas has reduced early voting drop off boxes to one a county. Harris County has the population of Rhode Island. This was challenged and upheld by three judges appointed by (shocked face) Trump.

My state severely limits early voting normally to very strict situations. Even then its hoops to vote early.

Literally anything they can do to reduce the number of voters is being done by GOP.

NC GOP was caught last year collecting ballots from people in a heavily dem area and offering to fill them out and complete them. Thee people told them who they wanted but these people filled out the GOP candidate info and turned them in.

This is in addition to the legal challenges they will throw out on or after election day miring the election in turmoil.

To #3, I don't know how many times people have to go through this, but people asked for Shokin to be removed because he wasn't prosecuting corruption. This includes everyone in the EU, as well as the US government wanting him out. Even Ron Johnson -- the guy who just commissioned the report on this -- wanted Shokin out.

So Shokin gets removed, and everyone pretends that it was a Biden unilateral action because he was going to prosecute corruption against Burisma when all the facts say the opposite.

To #5, convenient that they "knew" in 2019 and work for Trump and the Republicans just released another investigation on this showing no wrongdoing by Biden... but we're supposed to believe that this is some smoking gun.

To #7, no... people have said that Joe Biden didn't do anything wrong. The entire premise that he did something wrong has always been that he got the prosecutor fired to help his son... and this has been debunked repeatedly. By every reputable organization. Because everyone in the western world wanted this guy gone because he was weak on corruption and a puppet. These "emails" again don't show anything to the contrary.

I find it hilarious that Trumpers care so much about one meeting with an energy executive but don't give a single shit about Trump hob knobbing with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. He wishes his sex trafficker friend "the best" and you don't bat an eye. Trump has been influence peddling at a level never before seen, so please don't pretend to care that Joe Biden (allegedly) met someone... especially after Republicans confirmed that none of the Hunter Biden stuff had any impact on US policy.

Really appreciate the thought put into this, man.

It's absolutely baffling that this stuff happens. Was listening to my GF speak to her grandparents last night about how they can't find a time to vote (Cobb county GA) and will likely not vote. They seemed resigned to the fact they won't be voting, which is insane! For reference her Grandpa is OANN truther lmao.

Oh, and they don't want mail in ballots because they think that the Deep State will steal the election if there is mail in ballots. Even though their own vote is being suppressed! Not voting to own the Libs lmao.
