It sounds like ND is in good position with the uncommitted visitors this weekend.

Are Bartleson and Offord the ones expected to commit still?

Watts, Nixon, and Gonzalez still have other visits planned, I believe. Any word on expected decision timeline for those guys?

So my recollection is that there are (supposedly) two commits who haven't been revealed yet. If I'm reading this correctly, you recall the same, right?

It wouldn't shock anyone if Watts committed this weekend. He could already be committed too for that matter.

So potentially 3 this weekend?

And recently it's sounded like Watts is DB first now correct?

Is there anything to be "read" into with this? I.E. we really like where the WR board stands or is his just staff feeling that's his best position at next level.

Potentially, yeah. touching on that in the recruits threads right now.

Safe bet is still two.

Apparently Carmody is coming too. And as for the 3 commits, there’s a lot of moving parts. EJ Holland posted a coffee thing about a week ago and someone asked him if that meant two more or one more and he said 1 more only a few days ago. Now, I think Xavier Watts is making a decision soon between Nebraska and Notre Dame unless he decides to visit Michigan in the fall but I think he could pop sooner. Caleb Offord I believe is the silent commitment who will commit this weekend and is who EJ Holland is talking about. He’s got a rash CB’s/futurecasts along with a bunch of II and Rivals write ups on him that they wouldn’t do if ND didn’t have a real good shot at. Bartleson is tricky because I’ve heard he’d be in the class right now if he had the go ahead but idk if he gotten that for his OV or if he’ll get it this weekend. I think he will because I don’t think ND would bring a kid in on an OV and tell him to wait, but you never know. Christian Gonzalez is an interesting one cause this will be his first visit to campus so a quick commit seems like an uphill battle but he’ll have taken 3 OV’s by the end of this weekend and it’ll be interesting to see if he’ll want to shut things down before senior year or if he wants to visit a few more schools into the fall. As for Will Nixon, he OV’ed to GT, I think he doing back2back OV’s to Purdue and then ND. I think it comes down to if he wants to play for pops at Baylor or leave the nest. I think there could honestly be anywhere from 1-3 commitments between now and M-Tu.

Wonder what the staff thinks about Owen's. He covers well for a LB. If you need Mikes 2021 is the cycle that.

Just watched Howse's film as well and I think he would make a decent field corner. he is a sure tackler. Keeps everything in front of him. Closes well but his chnage of direction could improve. Looks like he is a half step short of getting a PBU or interception. Not sure He is really 6-2 either but I think he would make a quality field corner.

Yea, Carter is really making ND nation take notice. Seems like very genuine interest on his part. That'd be a huge piece (elite LB) to the 2021 class, if possible.

Berrong just taking the chance to see ND play in his home state, or something more to that? Or is he pulling the reverse John Theus on Robinson and Colzie?

That’s a ridiculous crop of 2020 talent coming in this weekend that isn’t committed. Man I’d wish ND could have something like that. It’ll be interesting to compare the USC weekend with the UGA-ND weekend. UGA has a lot more recruits to fill their class though. ND’s nearly done

It highlights the difference between a football factory and ND, no? Come to football and play school or come to school and play football. I'm not saying this is true across the board for all these recruits/players at these type of schools but it is more common than not, especially amongst the elite talent. It is what it is.

to me it highlights a much different point.....location location location.....it's why we are spending more time in georgia vs florida now a days....it's easy to get kids to come a few hours away via car than to make an 18-24hr drive from the south to ND or have the money to fly.

Good point

That’s a great point. UGA is one of the best located schools in the country in terms of talent within driving distance. Within an 8 hour car ride, UGA can cover half of Florida, Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, and eastern Louisiana (New Orleans). Of the top 5 recruiting schools in the country right now (UGA, Alabama, Clemson, LSU, Ohio State), UGA has probably the largest amount of Top 247 composite kids within driving distance to it. That’s a total guess but they’re so centrally located that it is a massive advantage.

Jojo Johnson is a MAC level athlete. Courtesy visit?

Careful, Antonio Brown, Dri Archer and Kareem Hunt were MAC level athletes.

Johnson is very athletic. He's been a long time phenom from when he lived in Merrillville. He was written up on the FBU/Pop Warner/NextGen circuits and won some state/ntional championships I believe. I wish he would have stayed at Merrillville where he had to play better comp but he worked out for ND at II this summer and made most folks watch lists. Not sure where he projects yet, I'd say CB for now. He has 4 Ints in 5 games this year. If I had to compare him to someone as a Jr, I'd say Cameron Martinez from MI who's going to OSU.

This is typical for Indiana recruiting though. They fly under the regional/national radar all the time. Look at the Michael McLaughlin kid visiting this weekend. He played at Danville up until this summer = no one's ever heard of him. . . moves to Florida and gets Miami and FSU offers on his first two camp visits.

ND's been recruiting JoJo non stop since the summer and he'll be there Saturday so this is real.
