Just looking at the D stats that were added.

Coney was a BEAST. Had 14 tackles (twice as many as anyone else), and a TFL.

Did ESPN always have QB hurries as a stat. I must be f'ing blind.

Anyone having issues with the icons underneath everyone's username? I just have a ton of boxed question marks and all the content is to the right, tall and narrow-tough to read.

Any help?

No. 3 Notre Dame 44, Navy 22

At no point in Notre Dame's win against Navy were the Irish remotely in danger of losing, which is exactly what was expected from the country's third-ranked team. However, an early-game ankle sprain to senior linebacker Drue Tranquill is worrisome going into next week's game against Northwestern in Chicago. X-rays came back negative -- a kernel of good news -- but with Northwestern suddenly looking a like legitimate threat, Tranquill's recovery will be monitored closely throughout the week. -- Kyle Bonagura

I'm seeing them too. It's like the beers and shamrocks and whatnot come to life. Don't know what to do about it. (Edit: As soon as I posted this, they went back to the normal beers and shamrocks. So maybe post about it to fix?)

As for the game, will be honest I wasn't watching that closely b/c split-screening with the Sox game. Was nice to see our offense impose its well. That second-half tackling though.

Did seem like Drew White made some plays, which is encouraging for next year. Also apparently Tranquil was walking in a boot when he came back out? That's encouraging for the rest of this year.

Against Navy, on the road, a solid win. Hard to complain at this time of year. On to Northwestern.

Drew White was 4th on the team in tackles. Very nice to see him that productive.

Pretty sure Dex had at least one route catch, and I know he had at least one screen. Not sure about the 3rd, but I'd bet it was another screen. Agree with your point though. I do think he can learn to run good routes, likely easier than he can learn to block lol. And his hands are good.

I'm drinking the goul-aid (tis the season) with you too on Jafar. I think he'll be a stud. I'm so impressed with what he's done this far, and at this stage.

TJJr... yes, he's definitely 3rd, but I'd expect (hope) them to not run Dex into the ground. Dex had 23 carries, Jarar 9, Book 6 (i think 4 were designed), and TJJr only 3. I'd like to see Dex get 15-20 (more 15 to keep him fresh), Jafar 10-15 + rcvr, and TJJr to get 10+. I mean why wear Dex out vs Navy. I do think they realized that in the second half as I don't remember seeing him near as much. I really though we'd see heavy doses of TJJr all second half after getting the big lead.

To this point, it's because hes a game changer. Specifically in the 2nd half where we stalled a couple drives, they picked up momentum, book throws a terrible int .. but then we come back with Dex and he rips 8-12 yds per carry on 3 or 4 straight plays. A. We desperately needed that. B. It killed their momentum. C. It allowed us to keep the pace and finish with a score.... this is why so many of us were calling for him in the georgia and Stanford game last year. Screw his pass blocking, just feed him the ball.. but this yr he's got it all, which is a joy to watch.

Yeah, it's universal for all users and we're working to fix the problem.

I wish he could run the ball every single down lol.. I just don't want to end up like Josh last year late in the season.

As impressive as the D was in the first half, it was upsetting to see their second half play. Glad Tranquill doesn't have a break, but if it's a high ankle sprain he will be done until the USC game. Those things take forever to heal.

8-0 baby!

Coney was good, seemed like Gilman was in on every tackle in the first half

1. When the fumble happened on the opening drive I exclaimed "this is how you lose to Navy!" ... and then everything that happened in the first half moving forward from that point is exactly how you beat Navy. The first half wasn't perfect on offense... you really should do better than 4.5 points per drive against Navy, and the two failed drives were a potentially disastrous fumble and a bad 3 & out... but on defense check out this drive chart:

4 plays, 9 yard, TOD
5 plays, 20 yards, punt
6 plays, 25 yards, punt
3 plays, -4 yards, punt
3 plays, 7 yards, punt
3 plays, 5 yards, halftime

That's damn near perfect. 62 total yards on 6 drives, zero points. Wow!

2. As good as the first half effort was, the second half effort was abysmal. The team clearly said "we're up 4 scores at half this game is over"... the tackling effort in the 2nd half was atrocious at times. I'll give them a pass because the first half was so good, but it seemed like players were gingerly stepping around bodies on the ground trying not to get hurt instead of playing aggressive. Way too many lazy arm tackles.

3. Even with his interception, Book finished with a 95.7 QBR. That's exactly what you need to do against a Navy team that has no talent on defense. You have to be efficient, and you can't be careless. He made one mistake reading the coverage but that's it (and I hated the play call, but that's a whole different story).

4. OL still inconsistent. Generally did a good job opening up holes against a Navy team that is undersized, but still had some cohesion issues. Encouraged by Banks at LG because he has upside.

5. Team, overall, has to play better to be a serious CFP contender that can hang with Clemson or dare I say Bama. OL has to be better, offense has to have fewer mistakes, D needs to play 60 minutes like the first half.

We covered the spread. How often does that happen against Navy? We scored over 40 points again, which was great to see after struggling vs Pitt. Hate that we gave up 22 on D but it's not that surprising. Navy was diving at players knees all game so I'm sure that affected the players some. Just hope Drue is the only injury and he'll be back soon. Manti played with a high ankle sprain 1 year, don't think he missed a game. Drue isn't Manti but he's as instrumental to the success of this team as Manti was in 2012. His leadership alone is needed.

Loved the running game. Seeing Dex play like this really pisses me off that they burned his red shirt and didn't utilize his skills more the last 3 years. Book is so good. I honestly never thought he'd see more than backup duties. With athletes like Kizer, Wimbush, and Jurkovich, it seemed impossible for Ian to ever be the starter. But his accuracy and football IQ makes him perfect for this offense and he's not a statue which makes him a more effective Tommy Rees.

That was horrible. Also passing on 3rd and two aggravated me. Was thrilled with our D in the first half. Hope Dru is OK. Boykin redeemed himself. 8-0...Onward to NW.

Perfectly said. Was at the game and thought the rules were changed from tackle to touch football on that drive and Pride should have been benched for that one. Team tackled terribly in the second half and lost an opportunity for some style points. In the end they TCB but as usual when up 27-0 at halftime thought this would be more impressive. Home game for Navy and a sellout. Crowd was 80% ND.

BTW stadium staffing and support was a joke. Took 45 minutes to get into the stadium. They had like 2 entrances to get in the stadium. Concessions were a 30 minutes wait. The chargers never packed them in like this. You’re welcome San Diego..

I've been called a moron for the past year and all the way up through this week for saying Dexter is a better back than Josh Adam's. And that hell have a longer NFL career than Adam's, barring injury.

How many flat earthers are left? Because hes better.

So I assumed ND would TCB and opted to watch the WS. Of course, my Dodgers choked (fire Dave Roberts). Did ND take care of business or play down to the competition? I will watch game tomorrow.

Both - The tale of two halves.

1. Taking care of business - Notre Dame dominated the first half. Navy struggled to get first downs. ND outscored Navy 27-0.

2. Playing down to the competition - Notre Dame forgot how to tackle in the second half and gave up several long running plays. Navy outscored ND 22-17

-Was in attendance at a ND game in my favorite town on Earth. Got to eat at some of my old haunts, a really great weekend.
-Perfect first half
-F**k Navy. I respect the academy and the service (former Marine here) but the team is dirty and gets away with it because they are service academy. The debt has been paid.
-The second half was super frustrating. Watching slow fat FBs break out long runs is frustrating. Why can't we tackle their 1* FBs?
-Book and Dex are lethal combo.

A Navy fan put it best, "I've never seen the Q so packed." He also said it seemed quiet. LOL welcome to ND football. For the record, I don't think it was quiet. Navy fans had nothing to cheer about for like 45 minutes of the game and ND fans were frustrated as hell in the 3rd quarter.
