Are they not doing videos on Periscope anymore? I only saw that one, and have been checking daily but seeing nothing.

I haven't seen anything more after that first day. Not sure what the plan is with that.

From what I saw that Coach Denbrock interview was packed (with info), like team highlights usually are not.

First, Nolan mentioned the fact that the Irish Coaching Staff is deep, having three staffers with Offensive Coordinator experience. I count four; or did Quinn not end up staying with the program? Or is Nolan being precise in that the "Coaching Advisors" for lack of a better term, are not counted as part of the staff?

Which starts an interesting discussion possibility : How is the first year of utilizing off the field coaches working out? As I see it there is a hell of a lot of talent in that group! Just look at Bobby Elliott! What a great resource the team has with all that extra experience!

Denbrock said a few important things, also.
  1. He, Kelly, and Sanford are working well together; and I believe that is the original model for the shift in the emphasis on team work, within the team.
  2. The athletes have it;
    • Many of the guys we have talked about for a long time are actually taking a step forward.
    • The freshman are going to be able to contribute this year at skilled positions, pushing the whole group forward, (hopefully!)
    • The returning guys have made progress and are providing leadership, (A better Will Fuller, Corey Robinson and Chris Brown?!?!?)
  3. The running back position will be more than okay, it will thrive;
    • TF will be a dependable every down back.
    • CJ will be something ND hasn't had at running back for a while, an every down home run threat.
    • JB is making the transition nicely. (Even though it has only been three or four days.) [But I will take him, especially catching out of the backfield on a double tight end set.]

Also, in conjunction, the day four highlights were great. It may seem as if I am making too much of the thirty seconds, but I see this as confirmation of what has been in the wind.
  • CB is taking his senior year seriously.
  • Corey has taken a big step forward physically, (moar speed and strength!)
  • Some of the young kids are doing incredibly well.

PS. And I agree, it is perfect to see Marcus Luttrell at camp! He is the real deal! I wonder if that ties into the leadership training the team received in June?

Coverage felt pretty balanced. Rece Davis and Hannah Storm (an alum) came across as pro-ND while Joey Galloway and Danny Kanell were somewhat anti.

I challenge any team in the country to scrounge up two linebackers that are as intelligent and articulate as those two guys.

Here is the core of what it is to me this season :

"There's a lot more going on in the world beyond my existence. Hearing his story is so humbling. It makes me never want to slow down for anything. It really is a privilege just to be able to go out and play football. I can look back at something I overcame that becomes something even greater in the future."
Jarett Grace

"If you look at it in a broader lens, it's really nothing relative to what could have happened. He talked about pulling shrapnel out of his shinbone. He had a broken back, broken pelvis, bullet holes all over his body, and I'm complaining about a broken ankle?"
Joe Schmidt

"Friendship and teamwork doesn't come when everything's good and you're just sitting around laughing and joking," he said. "You become a team when chaos comes - when pain comes. The more pain, the closer you'll be.". . .

"No breaks from being a man and no breaks from being a teammate"
Marcus Luttrell

"Although a correlation can be drawn to numerous Notre Dame team-building activities, including the Luttrell-approved lack of names on the Irish uniforms, the stakes SEALs face are, of course, significantly higher than even beating Texas or USC."
From the UND article.

we were laughing on here about Eric Hansen's appearance during BK's opening presser. This guy is the DFP's SCUM beat reporter and he makes Eric look like a Pulitzer candidate:
