I forgot to answer this question.

We might add one more safety because of Nick being more of a situational player.

Nicco Fertitta is a situational player alright. I'm afraid, much like Tyler Stockton, the most time Nicco will spend on the field for Notre Dame will be on Senior Day!

Outside of injuries worst case scenario for Nico will be a ST's ace for 4 years. I don't see anything wrong with the offer or commitment.

Loy has an interview up with Raequan Williams from Chicago Gordon Tech. He's been working extremely hard in the classroom and feels that he's on track to qualify for college. Probably one of the reasons ND was by last week to check in with him. We are trying to get him to visit for Irish Invasion, with the expectation that a good workout would lead to an offer. Iowa, Arizona, ASU, and Mizzou make up his top list but an ND offer would most likely change all that. Sounds like we'd move to the top with an offer. Very raw prospect but also very athletic for his size.

I'm ready for a legit 4/5 star commit rather than a high 3, borderline 4 star commit, but I really like that RB's highlights. Of the RB film I've watched, his was my favorite (I've avoided watching the elite RB's film because I don't want my hopes up).

On the Scout update,

Karan Hogdon is trying to get up to II, he just needs to figure out logistics with his parents. Karan really likes Alford and seems to have a pretty good relationship with him and would seriously consider Notre Dame if they offered. He thinks Notre Dame is an "elite" institution and he would like to major in pre-med.

If I was a USF fan, I would start to worry.

I feel like Karan would kill it in Oregon's offense, and I think that's somewhat what we'll be running now that we have no more excuses at QB. Let's ake him and Soso!

Those still exist outside of the student body??

I like our offense how it is now. I think we have a QB with a strong arm and good receivers to get the ball down field, and we have a big offensive line and running backs to play smash mouth with teams like Stanford

I have to agree with this. Our identity is multiple styles on both offense and defense. We don't have to stick to one style no matter if it will get destroyed by the opposing team. It's a good blend of Oregon and Bama.

While I agree with bothof these sentiments, I am worried about the RB position. I like Folston and Bryant, but we need to land a RB this cycle and from the looks of the master list Page 1, it does not look like we are in great standing with any of our targets.

Hoefully that improves over the summer and fall. We need a top tier RB this cycle.

We really need Soso to make it to II or sometime in June. From the articles, he seems really interested but it's always 'plans to visit'. Those are usually crap shoots it seems. There's so much playing time at RB on the horizon it's rediculous.

Per GB, per someone: “I’m making plans to visit right now,” he said. “When I get back home I’ll arrange flights and I’ll probably get there June 8, June 9 or June 10. That’s when I’ll take my visit up there.”

Please happen.

Seems like several of them will be at the II. I would like him to get some one one one with school and coaches and if he makes it up then that would be great. I am not sure who I like better, him or Patrick. I am leaning towards Patrick but I would definitely take Soso.

Here is TJ chiming in on WR recruiting.

Pretty much agree with Pete above. Piggybacking off of that, they'd like a bigger WR (ideally, one with some HR and RZ threat skills who can gain YAC physically and be more than just a "possession WR" type), and a second SlotWR type with speed, explosiveness and big-play skills (being an APB-capable type is a bonus here).

Some of the candidates in the first category include Broadus (June camp visit), Ofodile (early June visit), Campbell (wants to visit but nothing set or cooking), St. Brown (likely June/summer visit), Boykin (mid-June visit; hybrid skills), possibly Hill (more an X type; possible summer visit), possibly Miller.

Top candidates in the second category include Newsome (UM official visit, possible summer visit), Kirk (possible fall OV, but traction not there yet); and, APB/Slot hybrid types like Merritt (possible fall OV with some interest), McCloud (June visit), Irvin (possible summer or fall visit), and Lovette (likely summer or fall visit), among some others.

The June visits from amongst this group could set the stage for what may happen with WR recruiting (remaining) and fall visits. Should be interesting.

Armwood corner Jordan Griffin will be on campus hoping to earn an offer at the camp. It's the one he wants he is also teammates with Byron Cowart. So hopefully this helps us out and gets him on campus

Per TJ regarding RB recruiting,

In a grand scheme of things world, that would be a dynamite duo.

Then again, so would a combo of, say, Jamabo and McCloud. Both are scheduled in two weeks.

Or T Williams and Irvin for kick's sakes. Or is it for Pete's sakes?! One or both expected to visit this summer.

Or Adams and Lovette possibly. Again, one or both expected to visit this summer.

RB options have lined up extremely nicely thus far. Now we need to move on them and close, and that may be a long(er) process. Which is okay.
