Anybody else notice the blurred out version of the August 8 th practice report? It is at the 1:13 mark when Golson is rolling out. There is a big section of the left hand side that is blurred out. Anybody know why they would do that?

there are a couple of videos with blurred out sections. Possibly there are some plays/formations the staff don't want made public or probably..aliens.

It's most likely the planning of the annexation of Peurto Rico.

How is Mack Brown going to do an an analyst? I see him in that photo...

I doubt they took practice off because of rain. Just go inside.

Top conspiracies of the summer :

ND not practicing when ESPN is in town;

Blurred practice video;

Toledo's polluted water supply, (which had been going on but was covered by big money and the Governor, until a whistleblower blew the lid off of it!

What could be seen as a formation that ND coaches wouldn't want anyone to get a glimpse of? My first guess (maybe not the best, but it occurred first) is a power set with Tyler Luatua as a lead blocking back.

That would show right away, and stand out.

Edit : looking at the video, it looked like the defense was working where the "blur" was.

Another interesting note is with Hegarty out Hanratty ran with the ones at LG versus moving Elmer back there and putting McGlinchey at RT. For now it sounds like McGlinchey won't be in that starting lineup. I'm a little surprised by that, especially considering Kelly's comments about Elmer moving like a guard at Tackle.

Scout reported that Kelly was asked about this and he said McGlinchey is the first man in to back up the LT and RT, both spots. Sounds like they have decided they want Elmer at T and aren't going to screw around with moving him inside from that comment.

Coach and Harry seem to believe that Hegarty is more ready/able to be the fifth Finger-of-Doom on the OLine [giving us five guys who started games last year across the front.] Hegarty is known for good mobility, and maybe the ol' pulling guard thing that Golic was pretty good at is in his future.

Elmer is going to be great. He just needs to forget his guard programming and get his tackle-mind back into instant instinct.

Lombard isn't going to play tackle. McGlinchey is first man in, and Bivin would probably be second. McGlinchey is probably "OK" at this stage, but must be showing some green growing pains with the integrative system.

I would really like your, (and anyone else's opinion for that matter) of what they think. As I indicated in my post above, and based on statements that were made in all the PC's and previous videos, the offense and defense were separated. Since the playing highlighted was with EG, you would naturally think that was the #1 offense. So off in the distance, also indicated by the number of white jerseys, it would make sense was the #1 defense, with some offensive players lined up for demonstration, or what not. It didn't seem as if they were moving that fast. My assumption is that was either a qb'less offense, or more likely defensive instruction, maybe the installation of something new. That appears to me to be blurred. What do you think?

O'Malley wrote an article on practice so far. Players he listed as rising through the ranks are Luatua, Fuller, Brown, Bryant and Atkinson. He actually said last week if he didn't know Atkinson's past he would have thought he was the 3rd CB with the confidence and attitude he played with at practice.

Comment on J. Williams: Built like young Ishaq, appears to have Shembo motor.

maybe i am watching a different video, but what i saw was nothing more than 2 sec video of choppiness and nothing that appeared to me that they intentionally blurred anything because i could still see what was happening..again maybe i wasn't watching the correct one but this is the one i watched that i thought was the one in question

With Luatua perform so far, it questions what the reporting services saw his senior year that caused his rankings to plummet.

i think his rankings drop was due to his indifferent performances at some of the camps right?

He looks pretty slow and I'm sure that's why he sucked at camps.

But the last thing we needed was another pass catching TE with Weishar, Smythe, Huermann, and Koyac. All of those guys were recruited to catch the ball and none of them are really that filled out, so Luatua is perfect for us.

If I were a team that needed him as a receiving threat, mid 3 star from the few routes I've seen him run. So the reasons he dropped in ratings are legit IMO, but since we need him to be an inline blocker, the drop in ratings is moot for ND. For what we need, he might still be a ~94 rating.

Wasn't Tyler asked to play WR at one camp too?

Agreed. And the important of speed and size are inversely proportional.

If you line up a 270 lb. TE, you better make sure that you are accounting for him with a pretty stout LB. If you put someone 230 lbs in fornt of him, they'll run to that side every time. To be stout enough to take on a block like that, I doubt you are the fastest defender in the world.

Long story short, if he has good hands, the question is is he fast enough to beat the Carlo Calabrese's of the world, because that is going to have to engage him.
