the only thing the slot receiver does in this offense is run crossing routes anyways and they are usually the 4th read a QB has.

Mardy Gilyard is proof that Kelly can use a slot receiver to create explosive big plays. Neil seemed to have the same body type and quickness. I wonder if Carlisle can fit the bill. He's awfully quick and explosive as well.

Yep. Notre Dame will be fine. This **** happens. It happens too often (damn you 2012), but it happens.

Daniels, Jones, Brown. That's not a bad lineup by any stretch of the imagination. Carlisle and Folston carrying the weight in the slot. Ferguson coming alone outside. And oh, Onwualu physically ready to compete already. We'll be fine. You're right, they'll be fine.

If a OC/OG goes down, we can start to worry.

This also opens up some playing time for fan favorite Cam McDaniel.

I think DD and Brown on the outside with Jones on the inside is the ideal look.

Mardy Gilyard played primarily outside at UC, with the occasional formation sub that saw him inside.

Anytime I think about the 2012 class, I will hear Benny Hill music in the background. Losing Neal SUCKS, but as others have stated, we will be fine without him. I do think we would have been better with him, however.
