Really?? Those are your reasons why??

Believe me, the NFL will come a calling....and no matter how "slow" he walked up to the student section or what he said in the locker room, it will be hard to say no when you're the top dog at your position.

Middle linebackers don't get drafted very high. Go look at the drafts the past 15 yrs.

He's not even the top MLB on many boards - BC's beast is.

He's not winning as many fans (NFL-wise) with his play this year. Playing on a bum ankle will do that to you. He could very well be a 2nd rounder. Why not stay and play your way into the first round?

Don't dismiss how close he is to his 'bros' on the team, especially guys like Calabrese and Fox et al, all of whom will be back.

Don't dismiss his promise to his parents to get his degree. He is not on track to graduate early...he was not an EE.

This is not basketball. Lots of players stay four-five years in order to get their body to mature enough to be a legit 1st rounder.

He could definitely go pro, but there's a reason why people close to the program think there's a good chance he'll stay. You're dismissing all of these things and going off only by what you think. But there's more info out there.

I thought that Manti would leave but after seeing his play affected i do think he will stay. I think that he would be better off to stay and show how he can play healthy.

Not that I'm discounting any of it. But when the NFL comes calling, people listen. And more often than not, they leave early if the right situation presents itself.

And who are these "sources close to the program"?? I hate when that is what's used to back arguments.

Not Manti he is not in it for that... He might, but from all the interviews etc. i've heard from manti he is one of a kind, and will go when his mind is set not just for this or that.... Plus he is Super tight with his family you really think he would play his last game without them all being there?
Again he might, but knowing all that and reading his actions at BC i say he stays, and has a perfect senior season with the new guys we got coming in. We need Manti to spread his style on them play hard always...

He did. Last year. And the NFL knows that.

The only reason I think he'd stay is to graduate.

Because I don't think we'll be a better team next year, and "playing with your boys" is overrated, especially when Manti is going to be playing much more football after ND (pending he doesn't get hurt badly). You know how many guys gush about teammates and their boys, only to ship out to the NFL?? We have that conversation every offseason.

Oh, I agree that we need him to stay. He's a hellva linebacker and I'm gonna hate to see him go. A guy that plays that hard for you every down is very rare.

I know he's a solid guy and is very close to his fam....but the NFL is every kids dream. And I doubt his parents would disagree if he made the choice to finally reach that plateau.

Either way, he's one of the best I've ever seen at ND. Hope we get one more outta him.

Well i love these guys Golden,Clausen. Floyd will show you why you stay 4 yrs when you leave you actually have the size and playing time to adjust to NFL.

Golden and Clausen really hurt their selves by not staying.

Why would he stay? He's going into the NFL draft as the most coveted MLB...and next year, realistically, we're not going to be a good. And if I heard correctly, he's going to graduate early...

he already has roommates and an apartment picked out for next year.

and realistically, you're wrong.

I don't think we go 12-0 but your saying 6-6. thats just dumb especially before this season is even over.

Dumb to predict 6-6? I don't think it's that far off. We probably end up 8-4 this year. Next year's team will have less talent + harder schedule. That's not far from 6-6. My guess is 8-4.

I don't even think Te'o knows if he is leaving or not so nobody is in any position to say that he is staying or leaving. He will probably sit down with his family and the people close to him after the season to see what is best for him like many other underclassmen.

Ray Graham is most likely staying another year because doctors say he should be able to begin practicing in August which means he will not be able to workout for NFL team and participate in the combine. I truly feel for the kid.

I don't see how its harder. Stanford will not be that good, Oklahoma will replace them as the best team on this schedule.

Navy W
Purdue W
Michigan State W they lose Cousins and Baker, plus we trashed em this year
Michigan Toss Its home but they will be good IMO
Miami W they will not be good again
Stanford W they will go back to being a 7-5, 6-6 team
At Oklahoma L they won't be as good next year but it will be tough away
Pitt- W. Home, we are just better.
BC W. once again we are just better.
Wake Forest W. They lose like 18 senior starters this year
USC Toss. I will get back to you when I know if Barkley is back. If he is back, Loss.

Even throw in a loss somewhere to a team we shouldnt lose to, i still see 8-4 at worst.

Did you forget that we aren't very good against decent teams? We're 3-3 against teams with .500 or better record this year, about to be 3-4 (most likely).

MSU, Michigan, Miami, Stanford, Oklahoma, Pitt, USC will all be tough games. If you don't believe me, see USF. Our passing defense is going to take a huge hit next year. Like I said, 8-4 is what I expect but after watching this team this year with more talent than next year's, it's hard to have high expectations. And don't tell me we should have beat Michigan or USF. If you're going to use that logic then I guess we should have lost to Pitt and BC. We are what our record says we are and next year's going to be worse than this year. Hope I'm wrong.

OK, OK, this looks a lot like posts at this time last year, a lot of us, yes me included, thought we would be going to a BCS game this year with a 9-2 or 10-1 record. He!! I even made $100 bet to a O$U fan that ND would make a BCS bowl, in my defense I was drunk and it was after the Sun Bowl victory.
It's why they play the game, and I'm not going to make a prediction on a win when we have questions, for instance.
1). We have no idea who is leaving or staying for ND and opponents.
2). How the fresh and soph's develop and play.
3). Who and how the QB is playing.
I don't think we are nearly as good as I thought they would be this year. Until we start winning the games that we are supposed to win, i.e. south Florida, I will not look at a schedule and write off anyone on it. Sorry not pessimistic, just a fan that has seen this movie for the past 15 years, and it’s fing getting old.
