“They said that because I only played four games this season, because I dislocated my shoulder, they wanted to see a little bit more from me before they offer,” said Mullings. “They said they want me to come out for another visit and maybe even come to camp. They said they are extremely interested though.

“I understand it. It makes sense,” added Mullings. “It doesn’t bother me too much. Whatever happens, happens. I know that at the end of the day I’ll have to work for everything that I get. It’s just another path I’ll have to take to earn it.”

Mullings is already looking forward to his next trip to South Bend. He was unsure what to expect prior to the visit, but after being on campus for a fully day, he enjoyed it much more than he even thought he would.

“Going into Notre Dame, I thought it would be cornfields in Indiana and Notre Dame in the middle,” Mullings. “I got up there and realized it wasn’t like that at all. It’s a lot bigger than I expected. Overall, it was just a great experience, everything about it. Just seeing the tradition, the seven Heisman Trophy winners, it was just great. Seeing all that first hand, it was a great experience.”

Mullings added that his parents had a great time as well.

“They enjoyed it a lot,” said Mullings. “My mom is more about academics. That’s what she likes. We met with an academics advisor as well and that was a great experience. She loved it. My dad loved it. It was great overall.”

It says in the article that Lea told him he wants to see some Jr film first since he missed most of last season with a shoulder. He seems ok with it, he's visiting again.

Notre Dame-Michigan battle early on. Really hope ND can get him that offer really soon. Michigan got him offered a long long time ago and seems to have a lead with him visiting 3 times but he’s about to take his 3rd visit to ND without having an offer and hopefully he can take in a game atmosphere in the fall.

Better to be up front and honest, unlike Jimmy would would yank the offer if he hurt his shoulder again.

I know its been mentioned that Lea wanted to see Junior film, but Loy seems to think he'll get offered on his visit today. I think if we want to make a big move in his recruitment then ND should definitely offer him today and try to get him back on campus for a game in the fall (an offer would help their chances).

On campus today. Was at Northwestern yesterday.

Mullings said in an interview that Lea told him he wanted to see film from the upcoming season before offering due to a shoulder injury that ended his Soph season. Let's see if that changes or if Lea sticks to that position.

Has 6 CB's to Michigan and one (Loy) to ND.

So translation is that we went ahead and offered, but won't accept his commit until Lea sees film from his upcoming Junior year.

Either that or BK overruled Lea after talking to Mullings.

My first thought reading how Kalel worded his announcement tweet.

Any chance to recruit him was most likely over if he left ND again without an offer. Especially with him going to leader Michigan tomorrow for their big summer blowout. At least this throws a little shade on that... hopefully.

I really hope this kid doesn't fall for Michigan's line. He goes to one of the best academic high schools in the country (same as Justin Yoon). Should get a real education in college.

So Kalel Mullings visits March 9th with his parents, visits a second time July 27th, and has now booked a trip for the early fall to visit for a game day (my guess is September 1st for Michigan). Seems like ND could be near the top for this kid and he’d be a great great LBer fit for ND’s 2020 class.
