Good news is they fired their WR coach and have to start at the ground floor with him.

The bad news they promoted Brian Hartline from an analyst spot and now have a former 1000 yd NFL WR in his ear.

Probably the recruit that ND has the most to gain with.

lol at losing your shit over a high school kid's decision

Lol at responding in a condescending tone for using a commonly & totally harmless euphemism.

...and I was actually just wondering how you got that red bar.

I totally missed him having what sounds to be major hip surgery in January. He missed all of track season and the season opener last weekend with what was reported as a hip flexor strain.

Hopefully he be back for Friday's home opener vs #16 Naperville Central

ISD freebie offering some insights as to some 2020 Offensive Recruits
https://irishsportsdaily.com/s/7562/2020-offensive-outlook

One of Notre Dame’s top targets for a long time now, the Irish have seemed to be inching toward landing him for almost as long. He was back in South Bend for the opener against Michigan, a visit he described to Irish Sports Daily afterward as “amazing.” 2020 quarterback commit Drew Pyne has been after Henning since his own commitment and the Illinois guys on the roster like Julian Love, Miles Boykin, Isaiah Robertson and Houston Griffith have been encouraging him to follow their lead. Ohio State appears to be Notre Dame’s biggest competition at this point, although a visit to Miami over the summer caught his attention. He doesn’t have a timeline for a decision, but said he’ll definitely trim his list after his junior season.

Thanks for all of the updates.

But do you think it'd be easier for everyone if you just put these in the 2020 master list, rather than bumping ~30 profiles with soft updates (i.e., "still intrigued by ND" not "breaking: he's visiting this weekend")?

Easier on the readers. Easier on you. Work smarter, not harder.

Obviously that would've been easier for me, and if everyone would prefer that in the future, that's fine. I just thought it would be nice to have it in the actual recruits thread as a soft update on where things stand, rather than be buried in the Master List thread that people wouldn't probably go back through.

Sorry if I over burdened you.

I don't mean to be a jerk about it, if that's how it came across. IDK what other people would prefer but personally after I clicked into 2 I don't read the rest because it takes a lot of time.

Regardless of how you do it in the future, we all appreciate the updates.

I assumed most people wouldn't go to each individual thread to read the update after clicking on a couple and seeing it was the same article. I'm sure most people just read the whole article and ignored each of the thread updates.

I thought it would be nice to have each thread updated, so that if someone in the future was wondering where things stand with AJ Henning, they could just check his thread.

Good idea to update each individual thread. Stuff gets lost in the Master when it comes to highly targeted / offered recruits. This way it serves as a timeline when you go back to read it in their threads... and we will all be reading AJ Henning's thread until... he graduates from ND

This is a long time Koon complaint.
I've always felt they should be in player specific threads.

My premise is what if a month from now I want to find that article. Am iore likely to go to said players thread or some master catch all.

Odds are player specific.

So who did the Iowa analyst CB him to on Saturday? It's the opposite of the Ole Miss guy who takes a stab at everyone.

Interested to see which train of thought he followed as he talks to a lot of Chicago guys.

Young man was on NBC Chicago just now for something unrelated to high school football and was wearing OSU gear. Still hope he comes to south bend

ugh... a few months ago i thought we were leading, or had a great shot at a lot of O skill players (WR and RB). seems like i keep seeing some of them going the other way..... i thought undefeated meant we'd increase our chances....

not that i'm worried about OSU though. as soon as Urbie leaves, shit's gonna fall apart. just hope they don't promote from within, or get some rock star.

.9775 4* AJ Henning
.9771 4* Jordan Johnson
.9689 4* Gee Scott
.9584 4* Jalen McMillan
.9371 4* Curtis Jacobs (more likely a LBer)
.9167 4* Collin Sullivan (not offered but visited 2-3 times)
.9084 4* Daniel Jackson
.9081 4* Jadon Thompson (not offered but visited a bunch)

I think this is a position group that could end up getting some solid talent. All of those guys have been on campus at this point, all of those guys at different points have said glowing things about ND, and all of those guys are very talented. If they landed any 3 then you’d be talking about how good of a wide receiver class this is. I think it’s a little premature to worry about the WR board cause it looks really really good. AJ Henning would sting because he’s in ND’s backyard though.

Henning would sting a lot. If we don't end up with him or one of the next 3, I'll be very bummed.

Henning and Scott are both trending OSU. I think Johnson end up at Ark. Seen pro WA and LSU stuff from McMillan. Jacobs getting a lot attention from PSU and FL. Sullivan seems to be a OR lean, but really waiting on a TX offer. Jackson seems like he's still a ND lean, but paying a lot attention to TAMU lately. Have no clue about Thompson.

Anyway, not pretending to know anything more than what the boards say, but not feeling near as good as I did earlier. Not saying 91ish can't be great, but all except the bottom two feel trending away, and I really have zero clue about Thompson, so can't even say we're good there.

Last couple of cbs for him have been OSU

You mean the last one CB? Pretty sure it was Sean Bock on 10/27. The CB prior to that was Derrell Hart for ND on 8/30. ND still holds a huge advantage in the CB's. And I'm not sure whether that matters much at the moment. I haven't read anything that says he's trending OSU. Very well may end up there, but not much out there says he is.

...and he's wearing OSU gear on the National Broadcasting Company.

To be honest, Henning's got a lot of proving to do. His production to hype ratio is as low as anyone ever and the closest physical pkg and track star chops you can compare him to is D Neal (though Neal had 1000+ both rush & rec and no injury history playing against like competition). Henning hasn't done much of anything since a hip injury/surgery last winter. Didn't play in the state semi's last weekend which they lost to Loyola.

Maybe worst of all is some rumors of attitude/entitlement issues. While the great ones all know they're great, most know how to handle themselves and back it up on the field with production.

There's more which will come out at some point that may have caused some friction. I'll let that come out on it's own because I've heard 2.5 versions of the story and I don't know what's exactly true. I don't think what's said is bad but the fact that it was shared on social media may have not set well with a certain employee of ND.

So before we grieve the trending away or potential loss of Mr. Henning, let's see if he's still worthy of the grieving process.

So now it's a big deal if a prized recruit is wearing another schools gear? Hmmm
