Wide receiver turns heads at Notre Dame elite skills camp Freebie
By TOM LOY 3 hours ago

However, on Saturday, there was one prospect who left the biggest impression on 247Sports and that was Scottsdale (Ariz.) Chaparral three-star wide receiver Tommy Christakos. The class of 2020 standout is firmly in the discussion as the day's Top Performer.

The 6-4, 190-pounder was outstanding all day long. He was the most impressive during drills, showing soft hands, the ability to run clean routes, and above average speed. Then, during the one on one portion of the event, Christakos took over and made it look too easy. In fact, he took his play up a notch and was unstoppable. He caught everything thrown his way, did a great job of snagging the ball away from his body, got separation from the defenders, and was very precise with his route running.

Looking at his recruitment, it became very clear today why Christakos already has offers from Arizona, Arizona state, Memphis and Northern Arizona. It’s also evident why Notre Dame, Cal, North Carolina, Colorado, Louisville, Washington and many others are already showing interest in the impressive wide receiver.

According to a source, Notre Dame could make a big move in this recruitment if the Fighting Irish decide to offer. When looking at fit within the program and university, you won’t find too many that mesh well when looking at what Christakos wants in a school and what Notre Dame has to offer. On the field, he was getting a ton of attention from wide receivers coach DelVaughn Alexander while on campus and it’s clear that he’ll continue to be a target for Notre Dame moving forward. In addition, don’t be surprised if some schools look at his as a potential tight end down the road. His hands are outstanding and he looks to have the frame to add weight, while keeping his speed. He’d be a terrific fit under offensive coordinator and tight ends coach Chip Long.

“If Notre Dame were to eventually offer, that would mean the world to me,” said Christakos. “Their campus is beautiful and their program is awesome. I hope in the recent future that they offer me.

“The camp was great,” he added. “I think, personally, I could have done a little better, but otherwise I enjoyed the camp. Working with coach Alexander was awesome. He is a great coach and really fun to work with.”

Balled out today at ND.

Visited Purdue yesterday and heads to Northwestern tomorrow.

Grant Calcaterra 2.0.

4.0 GPA - 32 rec / 600 yds / 8 TD - Best combo P/K in AZ too - Every one of his KO's this year was a touchback.

Plays with one of '20's best QB's, Jack Miller who's probably heading to OSU.

I would have offered last year.

ND followed him this morning. You'll see some info about him from the ND recruitniks now. Crusader's job is done.

I went to his game last night vs Scottsdale Chaparral. Smith had around 170 yards rushing and a couple of TD's including a 75 yd highlight reel run. If this guy got the rock every time, he'd have 350-400 yds of rushing/receiving per. Their Sr. RB, Cole Fisher had over 200 yds combined. He might be a MWC player if not a classic Ivy League resume for sure.

Chaparral has 3 studs in the '20 class... the #1 QB by 247, Jack Miller, a Top 100 RB Darvon Hubbard who transferred in from Akron, Ohio and Tommy Christakos a 6-3 WR who is also a top national kicker working out of Chris Sailer Kicking. I'd offer Christakos right now. He has offers from AZ, ASU and Memphis. He had 2 TD rec and a 45 yd FG. Miller looked human.

Smith also added offers from Duke and Cal yesterday. More demographic proof that he's the right demo. Was told SC might be his dream school. No italics.

Here's Christakos and Smith.

Had a helluva game on the road vs. perennial power Chandler Hamilton:

12 rec ... 234 yd ... 1 TD... from '20 OSU QB commit Jack Miller.

Won the WR duel with another '20 ND target, Jerry Rice's son Brendan Rice who had 6 rec/88yd/1TD

Also had a 43 yd FG in the last minute to force OT where Chaparral won 36-33

Avg'd 43 yds on 5 punts too.

ND takes the lead with an offer.

Will they still take the lead when the offer comes in December 2019?

ND's still recruiting him at some level. I heard Stanford's really turned up the heat.

Saw him last Friday along with 20 other P5 recruits in the Chaparral - Saguaro game. He was putting his kick offs on the track and hit a 48 yard FG that might have been good from 60. Every KO this year is a touchback = 18/18. Avg 45 yd per punt too.

As a WR, he has: 24 rec ... 557 yds ... 4 TD

He had 5* Kelee Ringo on him and still had 5 rec for 100+ yards.

If he was in this years class, he would have been a PERFECT for ND.

due to the obvious culinary connections in the area he's a UC Bearcat lock right?

I doubt young Christakos would be interested in UC just because Nico Lambrinides started passing off makaronia me kima as 2 way chili.
