Offered back on Nov. 23rd, 2016. Visited on Soph Day.

Will be in the Top 5 overall players when it's said and done. I'd put him at #1 right now over Thibodeaux and Nolan Smith.

Was the runaway star of the Cleveland Opening Regional.

6-5.5 - 243lbs

4.62 - 40 (Elite)

4.45 - Shuttle (Very Good)

43.5 - PB (Very Good)

35.9 - Vert (Good...Great when you're 6-5.5)

Total = 125.82

You know Urbie will eventually ring the doorbell.

Olentangy HS is literally 16 miles away from Ohio State. If ND take one of the best players in the country out from under Urbie...i really don't know what i'd do because it's too hard to see it happening.

Ring the doorbell? You meant buy the house right?

He'll show up like the Fuller Brush man, smile and sell, sell, sell. If he can't get them to buy, then he throws in the bonus to close the deal.

Good news is there seems to be quite a few good DE's in the 19' class that are high on ND early. You'd think with some wins this fall, we'd be able to get 1 or 2 of them.

Visiting multiple times already is obviously big. If we were to get a commitment, I think it would be solid given the number of visits.

Harrison is the last player currently in HS that I think ND could sign. No italics.

IF he committed to ND, within 24hrs, the Harrison clan would take possession of 10 of these:

#2 DE located just 25 minutes from the Buckeye campus? Yeah, he's not coming to South Bend

Ohio's Top Junior Ready For Season To Begin

OLENTANGY, Ohio -- This is the first week of live scrimmage action in Ohio, and Scout was on hand to watch four-star junior defensive end Zach Harrison.

The first week of scrimmage action is upon us in the state of Ohio, and 2019 four-star Zach Harrison was in action Tuesday along with the rest of his Olentangy Orange teammates.

Harrison, the number-one defensive end prospect in the Midwest, played both sides of the football in scrimmage action against Pickerington North.

Showing his great speed and athleticism, Harrison pressured the quarterback and also was a force offensively at tight end. As he gains strength over the coming year, he is going to be nearly unblockable.

"It felt great to get back out there with pads on and play against another team," Harrison stated following the scrimmage. "I'm working on more pass rushing moves for this season, and not just rely on my athletic ability to get to the quarterback."

"We played well as a unit, and that comes from our coaching staff, because that's what's expected of us as players," he added.

Even though Harrison has put his recruitment on the back burner for now, he has visited such schools as Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Penn State.

"I was at Ohio State for their Friday Night Lights camp, although I didn't work out," he explained. "The atmosphere was cool, and I liked it. I talked to Coach (Urban) Meyer, but it wasn't high pressure and he mostly asked about my family. Most of the schools I like are recruiting me like that, on more of a personal level."

"I saw Penn State for their Lasch Bash weekend, and I want to go back there for a game," Harrison said. "I really liked it there, and I have a good relationship with (assistant coach) Terry Smith. I also spoke to Coach (James) Franklin, and I like him a lot."

" I also like Notre Dame and Michigan a lot, and I'm hoping to get to games at both places this year," he concluded. "I don't have a favorite school right now, and I'm more about Orange football at this point."

think I read somewhere that he's originally from the Chicago area and didn't grow up in Columbus or a die-hard Buckeye- that he just moved to Ohio a few years ago.

That'd be the only shot any team not named OSU has. And I still bet he winds up at OSU because Urbie is going to go balls to the wall for a kid in his backyard. He's not going to let a kid this good escape his backyard, and few if any can recruit and sell like Urbz.

I agree with the others in this thread who said he should probably be ranked #1. He's a freak athlete who runs a legit 4.6 at 6'6", 245 pounds. Not quite Clowney freakish- nobody is- but yeah this kid is freakish. My bet is he winds up being a top 3 player in the class at worst. Probably will wind up #1 overall.

Haven't seen you around in awhile Tom...you jealous of our 4-8 season or what? Too embarrassed to show your face? Feel inferior?

Headed to Notre Dame this weekend. I have to say, I'm amazed at how interested he is in Notre Dame. That's a huge kudos to Mike Elston and the staff. Wondering if this is a Dallas Gant situation or if he'll pull for the good guys. Look at his visits in the last year alone!

Notre Dame: 11/19/16 & 4/2/17 & 6/24/17 & 11/18/17
Ohio State: 1/28/17 & 2/20/17 & 3/23/17 & 4/15/17 & 6/17/17 & 7/21/17 & 10/28/17
Penn State: 3/25/17 & 7/15/17 & 10/21/17

Also of note, his family is from Chicago!

I just can't believe the quality of DL recruits in the 2019 class that have serious interest in ND.

I can't wait for a story about his family being devout Catholics and his Dad being inducted into the Mount Carmel Hall of Fame with teammate Donovan McNabb to drop.

Please let that be true.

Official visit to Penn State the following weekend for their Blue-White game.

Gives you an idea where Notre Dame is in the pecking order.

April 6: Ohio State
April 14: Michigan
April 21: Penn State

Honestly, ND needs to get guys on campus, but their spring game is nothing compared to Ohio State's or Penn State's those schools get 70-80,000 at their stadiums. Much more important to get recruits on campus for a game day at least once in their recruitment.

Why does ND insist its spring game must suck? Could they really not fill it up if they had $5 tickets?

The downside of having a national fanbase.

Ohio State, Michigan, Alabama, Auburn, etc. have local fanbases that can drive realistic distances (within an hour or so) to visit the campus and go to the game.

ND's fanbase is more widespread and has to travel longer distances. I'm not going to drive 3+ hours or book plane tickets for a spring game, doesn't matter how cheap the tickets are (could be free for all I care). That's just how it is.
