No idea how good he is or exactly how he’d fit our needs, but he passes the “Clemson and Princeton” test. Do want.
All-name team, too.

DiCosmo's 247 profile says he will OV on June 15.

A BC analyst added a Mich CB today. It's all Mich except 1 old BC CB. Loy put one in for Mich in March, before ND offered.

I won't be broken up if they "lose" him to UM.

Does anyone know if he has a commit-able offer?

I would bet so. Sounds like we are really pushing hard here right now. We are likely to take 2 WDE's and 1 more SDE. Maybe even a 3rd, depending on who it is. So, I'd be fairly surprised if they weren't willing to take him. His quickness is unique in that it's not something we have a lot of on the roster. So even if he's a situational pass rusher, ala Julian Okwara, he's a valuable piece.

Also, by June 15th, his OV, we should know where Nana and Ellison are headed. So, we have plenty of time to figure that out.

I'm emotionally unavailable and unsubscribed.

FREEBIE from Freeman@Rivals:

https://n.rivals.com/news/de-aeneas-dicosmo-talks-top-5-upcoming-visits-and-when-he-ll-commit

“I wouldn’t say there is a leader but there are three schools that have a distinct advantage right now,” DiCosmo said. “Stanford, Michigan, and Notre Dame have a lead on Clemson and Northwestern right now.”

Michigan- “I’ve visited eight schools in the past few months and of all them I think Michigan blew me away the most,” he said. “I definitely got the most out of that visit. I didn’t know too much about it going into the visit but, after talking to coach Harbaugh, coach Brown, and the rest of the players, it’s an environment I could see myself thriving in. Don Brown’s defense just attacks everything. He sees me as a linebacker and defensive end hybrid and would move me around to attack from all different places. That’s the role I see for myself on the next level. I think that fits me pretty well.”

Notre Dame- “Coach Elston kind of introduced me to what Notre Dame calls their ‘drop end’ and that’s the guy that can rush the quarterback or cover in space,” said DiCosmo. “It’s kind of similar to what I’m looking for. Notre Dame has such a rich history of great football. I visited there recently and I visited last year. The campus really blew me away. At Notre Dame and at Michigan, you can see that guys from New Jersey kind of thrive there. Shayne Simon, the Ademilola twins, and their quarterback are all New Jersey guys.”

Stanford- “Donald Stewart was a few years ago but Stanford has had some success recruiting in New Jersey,” he said. “Jordan Fox is there too. I think distance plays a role in how Stanford recruits New Jersey but that’s not a factor for me. I grew up traveling a lot and being on the west coast so it’s an atmosphere I’m familiar with. Stanford exemplifies the best of both worlds. They’re one of the best schools in the world while also competing for a Pac-12 title every year. They always seem like a dark horse to make the College Football Playoffs.”

I think him and Cross are Similar players so I would pass

I don't follow. Most have Cross pegged as a bid end, growing into a 3T. And Aeneas is a 220 lb WDE/Drop. At no point will they be on the same depth chart path.

I disagree with all of this. They're not the same player now and they're not being recruited for the same position. Totally different athletic abilities and frames.

That's where he belongs though I wish he'd go to Rutgers.

Can't say I agree with that. I don't doubt we'll add some good players but he's certainly an intriguing prospect. I certainly don't want to be playing him every year.

Strictly talking skill set to scheme. Better fit for their 3-4 long term IMO. I'd be happy w/ him on the field and off, definitely seems to be a demographic bull eye... but as long a NaNa comes, I'd prefer some more size in the #2 Drop candidate.

BTW, he and Ovie are almost identical physically though they've been asked to play different positions in high school.

That's where we differ. With Nana in the fold, I'd focus of quickness and speed versus size.

Aeneas is the same weight as a Junior (218-220), as Ovie is as a Senior (on ND's campus/217), maybe even a little heavier. So he has an entire year to add more weight. Okwara is showing you can play that Drop position at 230-235, situationally, and be successful.

He also has some position flexibility.

Does Aeneas project to the same position as that Scottish Nigerian track star kid? Because TBH he’s the one we should be all over.

No, David Ojabo will grow into a SDE. And while I agree that his athleticism is an extremely valuable asset. For our class, he'd need to be paired with another SDE that can give more immediate snaps. Not sure he'd be ready to be a two deep player by sophomore year. Even in his own words, he has no idea what he is doing. See ball/get ball.

By size I mean length. Balis can make em as heavy as you want (though Okwara might be his kryptonite). As far as flexibility, I think you get a hand in the dirt high school DE in DiCosmo with no LB spot to convert him to in ND's scheme... plus that position group is loaded. In a 3-4 he can be who he is and pick up the limited LB duties quickly.

But back to wanting him. I have never been one to pass on a demographical bulls eye. Catholic football factory in NJ, good production and test #'s + all the RKG boxes checked. If he says I'm coming, I'm taking him in a nano second.
