A bunch of Stanford CBs rolling in for a flip including Wiltfong and Anbender. From 1 rival to the next, still sucks.

I'm not curious, just extremely disappointed. This kid and his mother are Class A, USDA Prime RKP's.

Missionary work in Central America + the academic pkg that earns a Tree offer + a 4.5* rating at your #1 position of need should get you an auto-offer.

Shouldn't even mention he's from Indiana but I will.

Very disappointing.

Going to be a tough pull since the offer hasn't came yet. Still, as Crusader stated, it would seem like a no brainer to make the offer. ND has just as much to offer as Stanford and more to offer than Michigan. The luckeyes would be tough to beat out but academics, university sponsored mission trips, etc., would be great talking points to the kid and his mother.

Could it be that the staff reached out to him and he made it known he has no interest in Notre Dame?

In some cases, maybe. But not this one. He's already been to campus on his own dime for Invasion a couple years ago and still no offer. Very perplexing.

Well maybe that is it. He came for invasion and there is a mutual decision that it’s not the correct fit. Maybe rooming with the general student population is not his thing. IDK. Throughout the years the staff has been spot on not offering kids who seem like a perfect fit. I have to give the staff the benefit of the doubt.

Curious who some of these guys are?

Another CB for Stanford today, Ryan Donnelly - Big 10 reporter. Seems the smoke is starting to thicken.

Walker Little seemed like a recent one.

IMO, there are a decent amount of kids who like Stanford and not ND because ND is a Catholic school in the Midwest. For example, it seemed highly unlikely that Josh Rosen was actually going to give ND a look. And there a lot of Southern Baptist kids in the South who come to the same conclusions for obviously different reasons. This has been used as a negative recruiting tool for years.

On the other hand, some kids from areas with a strong Catholic history, or who are just more interested in having a faith connection (including some mormons and Muslims!), favor ND for that very reason.

And to be fair, there are many, many, many among ND's administration, alumni, and fans who would rather ND be indistinguishable from non-Catholic schools, but for a few hat tips here and there to beloved traditions, like the Jesuit schools. No one is turning down Georgetown because its Catholic. As all the Jesuit schools are fond of saying, not a Catholic school, but a school "in the Catholic Tradition" or, even better, "in the Jesuit Tradition."

My favorite example of this, which isn't a huge deal but nevertheless is very telling - if you go to the Snite art museum on Notre Dame's campus, they don't write the years as BC and AD - they do BCE and CE. If we're going to do things like this, can we at least stop pretending to be a Catholic school?

Not me, Michigan's off the schedule when he's a So/Jr/Sr/GS. If he hits, it's a yearly reminder that ND like him for whatever reason. Why couldn't he just go to UK and disappear off my screen?

I get that. I forget where you live but maybe the reason behind the different viewpoints is just that, location. Living in the Toledo area, along with other posters here, we are at the forefront of OSU/MICH fans.

So having a slurry of friends from both sides it's nice to go through football season without them beating their chest and talking crap the entire season. Losing out of this player obviously may not affect that at all when it's time to enroll for the next couple years but hey it helps. :)

But overall, I would love for him to follow in the footsteps of the great Matt Elam and turn UK around into perennial NC contenders.

I'm from Michigan City, ground zero for the worst bad feelings this game produces.

honestly he kinda stunk at the opening and his rankings have been in free fall on every site. This guy was an early 5* and his rankings have just crashed since he's done the camp/combine circuit. Went from being ranked like the 32nd player in the 247composite to the 86th ranked. He's fallen all the way to the 150's in 247's own rankings.

Once again, Michigan "dodges a bullet" when a recruit flips. They have never lost a quality recruit. Never.

So you must be THRILLED to be replacing him with #826 DiCosmo to pair with #830 Newburg.

Stanford has early admissions? “I knew after getting early admitted I couldn’t pass up that opportunity."

No. Obviously meant he got accepted early. We all know they can string out official acceptance until the last minute. Wonder if he misspoke or if the author misquoted?
