ND in contact.

All around football player either at WR or as a prototype Elko Rover prospect.

Soph stats for the KY 2A State Champs (14 G):

41 rec ... 726 yds ... 15 TD ... 1 TD rush ... 4 PR-TD ... 2 KR-TD

48 Tkl ... 3.0 TFL ... 4 Int ... 3 P6's.

Ran a 11.06 / 100m at the KY state track meet.

Was the WR MVP at the Rivals Camp in Columbus.

As good as an all around tape as you will ever see, granted it's 2A KY teams but still.

My little brother plays against CAL this year. Extra interest when I'm at that game now.

Hopefully Wright doesn't burn him too bad lmao.

KY football is strange. 2A is stronger than 3A and 4A most years, at least when you're looking at the top 4 or 5 teams in each class. A guy like Wright can single-handedly get his team to 3-peat territory though, like what Antonio Andrews did for Fort Campbell from 2007-2009.

Hopefully my brother and alma mater can stop CAL in the playoffs. They'll test each other in the regular season and then probably meet again in the title game (if my alma mater can get past Louisville Desales).

I'll be in the house to see this kid live tonight. I'll try to make Koon proud with my scouting report tonight or tomorrow morning.

Also, I know he hasn't been offered yet, but you all can Paypal or Venmo me with Bag Man donations, and I'll be sure to do what needs to be done.

Who do they play?

Newport Central Catholic in NKY, about a minute and a half from downtown Cincy.

They are opponents in Kentucky 2A, but don't share region/district. This is non-conference. They will meet again in the playoffs or in the state championship, I'd reckon.

I wonder how many people outside the area actually know the Cincinnati airport is in N. Kentucky.

Wright is playing QB, and he's only carried the ball twice. Either he's the only person capable of playing QB on their team this year and they're protecting him, or else they're saving him for the playoffs where they'll let him run every play.

Wright's team trails 20-9 with 6:30 left, so they're finally letting him run.

You can tell that the kid is on another level with his speed and vision, but no highlight reel plays yet. Other team tackling very well.

As long as he can tackle, blitz, plus cover the TE & slot... ND needs a guy like him to back up JOK & play Rover if/when Simon ends up an All American at Buck.

Wright threw three or four INTs tonight, but I learned that QB is just a temporary thing for now. He's filling a gap until their QB is back on the field.

Credit to his coaching staff for using the game to try and develop him in actually running the offense, and not just calling QB sweeps and powers all night... they can save that for the playoffs lol.

Truly, I hope I get to see these teams play again, and with Wright in his natural position.

He looks like a legit 6'2", so he may end up as a S/LB prospect if he packs muscle on over the next year. Doesn't move like a LB though, he glides and then puts the shoulder down when he needs to.

Didn't play defense at all tonight, and wasn't returning punts or kicks until the late 3rd when his team was down two scores. Opposing team sent kickoffs and punts out of bounds at that point. Smart coaching.

His team lost on a roughing-the-kicker that gave the other team a first down with a minute left. Entertaining but sloppy game. Good tackling on both sides, though.

Recruiting related: Michigan is recruiting him hard right now. His team also has a sophomore or junior at LT that's already hearing from Bama weekly.

The opposing team has a junior at RB/LB that's getting looked at by Louisville as a coverage LB.

2A football in Kentucky having a strong year or three on the recruiting trail!

Committed to Purdue.

Rondale Moore in the slot, Milton Wright on the outside??? Sheeeesh.

The only thing that could throw a wrench in these plans is Louisville ponying up for Brohm, in which case Wright is likely staying home to play for the Cards.

Brohm's not going anywhere IMO. Purdue has opened up the checkbook considerably more since former AD Burke left. Nothing but my opinion, but I think Mitch has stepped in and become a little more involved on the athletic side, which I believe is one reason Burke isn't there anymore. Mitch looked at those empty seats and saw all of that lost revenue. He knows football can generate a lot of revenue if you spend some.

Besides, UoL is in some turmoil right now.

It is based on current situations, but it'd probably be easier from Brohm to build and sustain a winner at Louisville than Purdue.

Maybe so, but he's in an absolute garbage division in the Big Ten. He would have to deal with Clemson if he went to Louisville.

If Purdue's current coach was from Manhattan, KS and went to KSU, would he currently leave Purdue for louisville? Almost certainly, no.

Rumors of Brohm to louisville lie solely on the fact that he is from there and went there. While enticing, I doubt that's all he ultimately wants in life- to coach football at louisville. If his goal is to one day coach on a premier stage, he can use the Purdue gig to get him to that stage. He doesn't need to go to louisville from Purdue to get there. Most people want to take the easiest and most direct route to get where they want to go. Adding a stop at louisville only complicates the logistics of his ultimate destination. Why go through the hassle of buyouts, moving, switching kids' schools, acclimating, buying and selling houses, etc. if he knows he's going to do it again in a couple more years anyway? Add in the fact that Purdue is at least as good of a job already, if not better, than louisville, and I would be shocked if he left Purdue to go to louisville- it just doesn't make much sense.
