Just for comparison, Pride was a 10.5 guy, and Lenzy 10.82.

Rutherford may not have the true long speed, but he will become a faster, more explosive athlete under Balis. As long as he plays with physicality and confidence, he’ll have a role on this team.

I’m actually curious how Rutherford compares to all of the corners we signed last season. Ranking based, he appears to be the highest, (I’m viewing Griffith as a safety in this scenario), but I’ll have to go over the film that I can find to form my answer.

I am just happy we pulled this type of kid out of Cali, when all hope in Cali seemed lost this cycle. If ND gets Foskey, I will be very surprised. I said in a previous post that Polian needs to earn his money elsewhere cuz him coaching special teams ain't cutting it so he better get good recruits from the West coast.

Polian is a great recruiter. There was probably a good chance Manti would have ended up a Trojan if not for Brian.

This may not mean much right now, but I don’t feel confident that Tariq Bracy would have signed if not for Polian.

Watched his tape expecting your classic tall boundary corner but he's definitely a lot more than that. The jerseys his team wears may have clouded my judgement slightly on this but he has the same kind of fleet-footed change of direction that you'd recognize from the old Reggie Bush tape. Should get a look at punt returns.

This seems kinda early. Something else going on here?

Passed up by guys younger than him... Just never developed for us. Will prolly transfer back home and have a good career because it would make sense for a corner to leave and suddenly figure out how to play

I was kinda shocked on how little he played considering the accolades he had as a recruit. Too bad, cause our secondary needs a revamp or at least a reload next year.

It seems like unless you are getting the absolute elite DBs it is nearly impossible to predict how they will turn out.

ISD predicted this before Thanksgiving. I was shocked but apparently he got passed up and wants playing time elsewhere. Good luck to him, hope he does well.

Sucks it didn’t work out. He was one of our better DB recruits over the past few years.

Even top 100 has proven to be fluky. We thought we had two guaranteed studs in Allen and Griffith..woof.

I usually have a balanced take on the team that may skew to the optimistic side...but I very much do not like thinking about our DBs lol.

Yea.

Technically, he's 3rd string and, as of today, the top 2 at his position are coming back. So, not a huge deal for next season. He saw 28 snaps on the season.

But, we're going to need Mickens to coach these guys up and get more out of the group than just 1 or 2 of them.

Interesting choice. Considering they gave up 77 points in their last game I guess you could say there will probably be plenty of opportunities for early playing time.
