SPARQ score of 128.13 to lead the country at The Opening in San Francisco.

I was told that if ND offered, they will be tough to beat. Will be a special teams nightmare, and could fit in really well at either safety or rover.

/RECORD SCRATCHING NOISE

He's a Stanford legacy. His dad played there... and with his brains, his measurables, and his tweener skill-set, that sounds about right.

Goddamn Stanford.

With a Sparq score like that he should be a 5 star, but he'll be a 3 since the Irish have offered.

BOOM?

What did I miss? Stanford is going to offer on his visit there this weekend, he got an offer from Princeton so that low rent outfit in Palo Alto has no excuse. They just wanted to give ND a glimmer of hope. Isn't his Mom an SC, UCLA or Cal grad on top of it?

He's definitely in the 1% club athletically but he's also in the 1% chance of attending ND club.

Loy seems to be really pushing the idea that it’s Ekwonu and Henrich the staff wants and saving a 3rd spot for Smith. So 2 LB’s and only a 3rd if it’s Smith. Not sure if he’s been told that, but it’s come up with both Sinclair and Lytle.

No need to save an LB spot for Smith, he gets any spot's scholarship. Sinclair's spot is covered by enough guys on the roster in 2018/19 that I don't see the need w/ scholarships being accounted for and tightening. Now if he was 6-3/225, he'd be at the top of the board. I think the right team would be wise to grab him at safety and let him move up to LB if he grew into it like Sua Cravens. Still think Stanford eventually pulls the trigger on the legacy but Loy going Cal made me go Hmmmm ... meaning maybe he feels Stanford won't join the race (?).

Ekwonu & Henrich is all I care about now and I'd add a third (or fourth depending on who and if there is any transfers by those being passed up) later.

Lots of Cal grads throughout the rest of his family.

I know he’s basically a Stanford lock but having ur best academic FBS offers be...

Stanford
Notre Dame
Vanderbilt
Cal
USC

That’s really, really impressive. Hats off to any kid who achieves those 5 offers.

Listen, I don’t love their football program too, but it’s just naive to not acknowledge USC as a good academic institution. Similarly, UF & Michigan are good academic state schools that have lots of programs to let players not take legit courses there, but that doesn’t discount the fact that they are some of the best academic state schools in the country.

I don't think you have to "achieve" anything academically to get a USC offer. I don't think I've ever heard of a USC recruit not having an actionable offer because of low academic performance. I think if you meet the NCAA minimum, you are a full go at USC.

My point isn't the eligibility of receiving those offers. It's the fact that he has those 5 options. You can be a 2.0 student and go to USC/Michigan/UF etc, but that doesn't mean you're receiving a crap degree, because if you walk across that stage after 4-5 years, you're receiving a top of line diploma, connections all around the country and maybe even the world. Plus, the good schools that let the barely eligible 2.0 students in usually have terrible graduation rates. Like Cal-Berkeley lets in almost anyone with a pulse and in turn have one of the worst graduation rates in the entire country (that stat might be a few years old, but still illustrates my point). The overall point is if you're a smart kid looking for a good education, Tristan Sinclair's top 5 academic offers are something to be commended. Out of all the FBS institutions, here's the forbes ranking for power 5 schools...

1. Stanford
2. Duke
3. Notre Dame
4. Vanderbilt
5. Northwestern
6. Cal-Berkeley
7. Michigan
8. Virginia
9. USC
10. UCLA
