Mitch Hyatt will help that. It's what have you done for me lately. Kids don't give a shit who has drafted in 1998.

Clemson is an easy school to like and be impressed with. Checks all the boxes.

That was the point of the post. Despite Clemson's success, they don't produce good OL. Last one drafted was 2014 and only 3 others since 1998. Mays: Can things change...yes. Are you considering yourself the exception...maybe.

But comparing NFL ready/drafted OL between the two isn't even a comparison. It's like Bame vs ND in the NCG...harharhar.

ND has done this to kids "lately." Two 1st rounders in the last three drafts with another 1/2 1st rounders in the next draft. That's getting something done lately.

I made the post because talk was about HH. If he has other reasons, sure go ahead and have them but this was to give the advantage to ND for this point.

Fair enough. Heistand is above and beyond anything Clemson has on it's end. If it came down to just that, I'd agree with you.

I think this recruitment comes down to much more than that, at least that's the vibe I get.

I don't think this kid makes it North of Knoxville.

Guess you're right and the greatest QB and WR were in that class

I'd hammer Clemson's S&C on Hyatt. He's slipping it seems. Last mock I saw he was #7 OT. He appears to be playing too light. Clemson says he's 6-5 305 but the eye scale says no way.

Compare Hyatt to Q or McG and simply ask... you wanna go to Clemson and roll the dice or do you wanna come to ND where HH and Balis will set you up for life? You just can't beat the Martin & Martin, Stanley, Q & McG resume right now.

There's no competition on that resume, I agree.

ND just has to keep winning.

While I'm all for winning, it seems to have little to do with landing future NFL draftees.

Here are the seasons ND had before their star OL's signed.

Z Martin - 7-6

N Martin - 8-5

Stanley - 8-5

McGlinchey - 12-1

Nelson - 9-4

Does ND need to go 3-4 in the second half to land Mays?

Clemsoninsider reporting that Mays will take an official visit to Clemson on 10/28

Bill Kurelic supposedly reported last night that Mays will be taking an official to pOSU

Knoxville Catholic has an open date this weekend and neither Clemson or pOSU are playing.

Wonder if he is taking a surprise official to one of these this weekend.

Notre Dame hosts USC
Alabama hosts Tennessee (would probably tick off a lot of Vol fans)

If we don't get him to take an official this weekend, it would seem unlikely that we get him. If he flips, I think it will be Clemson.

Based upon this tweet, Cade is going on a hunting/fishing trip this weekend.

I guess the other possibility is that PJ Fleck is going to pull off the recruiting coup of the century.

He's the closest I've seen that compares to Q. Nelson. Some might not remember but Q. was a 5 star OT and he without a doubt could be a good to great OT in college and most likely in the NFL as well.

However the move inside to OG made his skillset even more dynamic and by doing so instead of being just great he is truly elite of the elite.

I see the same exact thing in Cade Mays that I did and do with Q.

Who knows if he's a fit for ND or if he would be willing to move off OT but what ND can offer him is to work with the best OL coach and a perfect blueprint to become special by following Q. Nelson's career path.

He just took an unofficial to Clemson this weekend and is going back on an official on November 18th. They remain the heavy favorite in the event of a flip.

Ugh please don't be Georgia if not ND. I feel Georgia is beginning to turn into the new Alabama. Bama's dominance has been going on for 8+ years. It's bound to fade.

All I know is that as much as this guy loves to hunt and fish, somebody better be stocking the ponds on campus prior to his visit.

This is one kid I would love to land.

I'll buy him a Shimano Beastmaster if it will get him to sign.

Going to have to beat out Clemson. Apparently Chip Long has done a good job of getting us into the hunt.

Mays - Salyer - Ericsson -Hill - Condon

May be the most filthy OL group ive ever seen.
With Fields and White behind them.... goodness.

So, i hope Ben Wolk is very wrong.

I'd take last year's ND haul over this could be haul right now. Also take Sarrell, Walker and nobody else over a maybe haul of 5 that currently has 2.

I bet HH could flip Condon if he wanted him. Pretty sure he was an ND fan growing up and had the coaches kicking his tires.

I hope everyone pumps the brakes on the excitement. He won't (IMO) make it North of Knoxville. I'll be shocked if he even makes the visit in December.

Clemson, Georgia, Tennessee battle.

^^This

In a recent interview he talked about how he's never been "up north" referring to his upcoming visits to pOSU and ND.

Cade actually did speak about an OL coach when discussing his upcoming visits, but it was pOSU's OL coach and not HH.

The only thing that he mentioned when discussing ND was that he wanted to see what the culture was like at ND and he's friends with Markese Stepp.

Would be absolutely shocked if he went to a school "up north".
