After reading Hanson’s story I’ll go with leaving too. A couple of references to the shitty weather. So look for him to go to a warm spot.

Didn’t think a guy from Oregon would find the weather so unpleasant.

While his career here has been inauspicious at times, I’d like to see him back also. He showed growth throughout the season, and like other posters have said, can finish strong at ND. He will be a leader next year, and I think that role will be rewarded if he chooses to embrace it.

It’s a particular kind of shitty weather in SB with no recourse to see the ocean. But you don’t come for the city. He would be wise to grin and bear it because a master’s in business from ND and a great season on the field top anything Oregon has to offer him.

Lenzy is the exact type of WR we should want back though. He’s good enough to make plays on the field but not reached a point in his career where a underclassmen passing him up would be out of the question. Perfect depth floor, starter ceiling.

I doubt anyone disagrees with you, however; what inducement does he have to return to ND?

Buchner has tons of potential but there’s no guarantee he’ll be an effective pass-first QB which will allow Lenzy more targets (opportunities) than 2020.
Plenty of other programs w/ better passing game in warmer weather.

Buchner probably fits him well if we go short passes and bombs w/ little intermediate stuff. MBA program he mentioned. Teammates, finished what you started, easier to not start over etc

This is fair, but he’s also in a system he is familiar with at Notre Dame. He will be a veteran with leadership opportunities and more touches. Tyler wasn’t exactly allowed to flex his full capabilities much this season. Braden’s smart enough to recognize that ND will likely be taking more risks on offense this season given Tommy’s full authorization. And you can’t count Tommy out. He will recruit Braden to stay. Not to mention Freeman’s influence and program visibility at ND with upward trajectory.

Hope you & Dale are right. Would love to see him & KA back at ND

Along w Captain Avery Davis.

100% but I think his options are more limited. Before the injury, it was fairly evident that this would be his last year. Not b/c he thought he’d be a high draft pick (if drafted at all) but b/c he’d done everything he could in his time at ND. Factor in the season ending injury and now he can’t even compete in a Pro Day and be an UDFA. Hopefully, the situation becomes a win/win where ND needs his skills/experience/leadership & Avery needs a reset to make one last effort for a crown topping final season in South Bend.

This is what I'm hoping for along with a power running game. Would love Lenzy back to stretch the field. Hopefully they can convince him of that.

If he stays you have to wonder if that's what's fueling the rumors that Styles or Colzie are thinking of leaving. If Lenzy were to stay and that does cause Styles or Colzie to leave I'd rather Lenzy move on. Just don't think he'd be worth risking a talented freshmen leaving.

I know injuries slow people down but man he looks slow, his instincts are no where to be found and my I am more explosive than he is.

Even without his usual take-the-top-off speed showing itself, I actually thought Lenzy looked pretty good. He ran good routes and made some tough possession catches against tight coverage.

He missed a big one early, and maybe could’ve caught the one that Coan threw behind him way late in the game… but that would’ve been a tough catch for any receiver in the country.

Personally, I was encouraged by his performance, and I hope he comes back. He’s got decent suddenness to his routes, and that will help next year when Buchner uses his mobility to start moving around and creating new throwing lanes. I think Lenzy would be a beneficiary based on his ability to stop and go.

I'm not seeing the shitty play that others are apparently. Going off memory he had one "drop" which he would have had to lay out for, not an easy catch by any means. Other times Coan throw absolute shit passes his way. Not wanting him to return is stupid IMO.

Don’t disagree. This is turning into the Chris Brown story part 2. A speedy wide receiver that ends up not being fast to a guy the becomes a reliable 8-12 yard guy.

Unfortunately we need him because Del, Rees, and Kelly were terrible in recruiting wide receivers. I think he would serve a purpose but I wouldn’t expect top wide receiver status though.

I thought yesterday was actually one of his better games, overall.

Want him back and still think he can impact the team positively, but he had a lot of targets yesterday for his production. Not much bang for the buck. He doesn’t have great route running and he’s not a great hands guy. Tough to produce without one or the other even with that speed

The thing with Lenzy is he he's not wide open, he's likely not making the catch. But also, with our depth, beggars can't be choosers. We need him back. And Austin. And Davis. And Wilkins.

Thanks, Del.

When has Lenzy ever been this blazing fast receiver? Even going back to his earlier days I remember thinking, "man, he really didn't create a lot of separation there".

I think people are down on him because we thought he was going to be faster than he played. He's never been a good receiver and earlier in the year he gave off some bad vibes with his attitude towards Coan.

With that said, i felt he matured during the season and kept continuing to improve. Yesterday may have been his best game.

I thought the same thing but on multiple replays he was about to blow by the CB before the defender grabbed his jersey. There were at least two that would’ve been TDs that I noticed on replay. The second one didn’t even get noticed by Orlovsky. The first one was obvious to everyone.

Also, the field surface was horrible. Both teams struggled w/ footing.

I think Lenzy will be great if he's the #3 guy. He's not the type of guy that will be able to thrive going against a stud corner but can be a matchup nightmare if a LB is covering him.

Has Lenzy ever broken a tackle? Dude looks like he's 160 lbs soaking wet, and seems to get knocked down by anything stronger than a light breeze.

We obviously need him back given the dire status of our WR room, but you've gotta think Colzie can't be far off from being a better option.

Honestly, can’t think of any WR we’ve had that creates separation deep since Will Fuller. We’ve had some bigger physical guys but not a speed guy.
