Will USC offer?

They've been in contact as much as anyone so I would think so. He isn't the prototype USC WR if you ask me but he's damned good. I feel really good about ND....

Is ND looking at him as a corner or WR? Or as Kelly put it at the press conference speed guy.

According to the BGI Recruiting podcast he is being recruited as both (about 25:45).
Blue & Gold Illustrated: Notre Dame Football And Recruiting

**********************************************************************
Also, according to slapthesign both:
Slap The Sign Co-Expert Sinclair Spoke With Big Time Recruit WR/CB Braden Lenzy.
“Lately I’ve been leaning towards playing wide receiver in college. What I’ve been told (by ND staff) is that my upside is at corner because I’m a long, lengthy corner with the speed of a 5’9 corner but the height of a wide receiver. They say that’s pretty rare.”

“Right now, it’s about trying to find out what’s best for me and my future and what I personally want to do in my heart.”

“I’ve been in contact with Coach Alexander over the phone a lot, especially over the last few weeks. I’ve also been in contact with Coach Lyght and he’s built a very strong interest in me and he made it clear I could play either way. I also spoke with Brian Kelly and he was cool.”

“They’ve made it seem, from our conversations that I would get to choose which position I would start out at. Sounds like I would have the final say.”

I think this guy is going to commit, whether tomorrow, or this week, but I feel it is coming soon.

Found some interesting stuff about Lenzy's Dad, Melvin (Known up to now as... the Purdue grad from Ohio)

Melvin Lenzy is the Sr. Global Brand Director at Nike that's been in charge of Kobe and Anthony Davis and was the project mgr that launched Nike Free's which revolutionized the running/casual segment of the athletic shoe industry.

More importantly for you youngins here... Before Nike, he was Brand Director of Madden & NCAA Football for EA Sports. For you college basketball fans, he's childhood friends with Eric Snow (Mich St) and (you Cincy guys will remember) Michael Hawkins - the goggle wearing PG from the great early 90's Xavier teams. Lenzy got his MBA from X after Purdue. Lenzy Sr then followed Hawkins to Portland during his time with the Trailblazers and started his career in sports marketing with the Trailblazers.

Fascinating story. THAT's the American Dream.

Now, how does the Sr. Global Brand Director let his kid go to an Under Armour school? That's a serious question.

Dad sounds like a man who understands power of education and peer connections. That certainly can't hurt ND. The brand loyaty could be interesting tho.

ILenzy said on a video interview that he is going to go home and talk to his parents and then think on it

I think we land this kid along with Micah Jones and possibly the OL we offered from the group that visited.

That sounds a hell of a lot like he wants to pull trigger, and he just wants to talk with his parents first.

Convo starts out like... "Dad, do you know Kevin Plank?"

Can someone ask him why playtesting never found the obnoxious overtime glitch in NCAA? Or how many linebackers he's ever seen jump twelve feet in the air to intercept a go-ahead touchdown?

With his versatility on both off. and def., plus his speed, he would be an awesome pick up!

No, he went to South but the Nike bio says he and Hawkins grew up across the street from each other. Could have been some boundary jumpers(?)

Coaches made it clear he would have his choice. They didn't say how long it would take to see the field with either choice, necessarily.

Apparently they want him to be an immediate special teams returner though.

As of today I agree, and I'd add Kalon Gervin to that list as well.

Just posted in Jones thread -

I think that has a direct affect on another prospect. Sinclair at Slap me, er excuse me, Slap the sign says that Jones and Lenzy have developed a very close relationship, and have really talked recruitment over, shared notes, etc.

This thing could be gaining MO!

Dad posted on II Scout and said he's made sure to keep his business interests separate fro m his son's recruitment. Basically wants his kid to make the best decision for himself.

According to his 247 timeline, he unofficially visited USC and Oregon after he visited ND for junior day. Loy putting the CB after those visits, and not right after he left ND, has to be a good thing.
