Might be visiting very soon. Told 11Warteaters so on March 30th.

JACKSON CARMAN WILL SEE MSU, UM AND OHIO STATE THIS WEEK

Another of Ohio's top 2018 prospects, Fairfield's Jackson Carman, will be at Ohio State again soon.

"Saturday," Carman told Eleven Warriors about when his next visit to Columbus will be.

Before then, Carman, 6-foot-6 and 275 pounds, will check out a few of the Buckeyes' rivals.

"I'm leaving today (for Michigan State)," Carman said, after tweeting that he'd be heading to East Lansing. "I'll go to Michigan Friday and on the way back down hit up Purdue or Notre Dame."

From GB in the Eichenberg thread from an unnamed source:

“Urban told me they have me ranked as the No. 1 player in the country regardless of position for the 2018 class and their highest recruiting priority,” Carman said. “He said he wants me to be the leader of their 2018 recruiting class the same way Josh Myers is for 17. He also said he wants me to enroll early because he believes I’ll most likely start as a true freshman. He showed us some pics of his family, and then individually placed rings on my hands and told me the significance of each one which was pretty cool too.”

There goes Urban again, promising starting spots to true freshman

I wonder what Michael Jordan, Isaiah Prince and Jake Moretti think about that when they read it?

Freebie from Wiltfong @ 247:

Irish offer perhaps the country's top offensive tackle

Fairfield (Ohio) High 2018 offensive tackle Jackson Carman was offered by Notre Dame on Monday.

The Irish staff was in school to see Carman and his teammate and classmate Malik Vann among others. The four-star Vann also has an ND offer.

Carman is ranked by 247Sports as the nation's No. 2 offensive tackle, No. 2 recruit in Ohio and No. 20 player overall. Early favorites are Ohio State, Michigan and Michigan State in that order.

He's still learning about the Irish.

"I know they're a prestigious school academically and athletically, but not really the fun facts that people that are more knowledgeable about college football know about," Carman said.

First part of his quote gives me plenty of hope, but the second part of his quote has muted my enthusiasm a bit. Good news is, it sounds like this kid won't be manipulated by "flashiness"

From the Elevenwarriors site:
The Hurry Up: Texas Wideout Calls Offer a Blessing, Michigan Corner Impressed with Gameday Atmosphere and 5-Star Linebacker May No Longer Visit Ohio State | Eleven Warriors

“Notre Dame is different,” he said, comparing the two schools. “Ohio State is really flash and hype-oriented, which isn't a bad thing. But Notre Dame isn't really about that. They know they're good, they know what they want and they allow the people who know what's best to make their decisions based on what Notre Dame has to offer and not what it's hyped up to be. People who know what they want can resist being affected by the flashiness of other schools.

“Ohio State's flashiness is kind of different, though, because they don't flash rhinestones. They're flashing real diamonds, and anything that they're saying, they can most likely back it up.”

I'm guessing he spent some time talking to Kraemer and Eichenberg. Didn't one of those guys express how turned off he was listening to Urban Meyer's car salesman pitch?

Both maybe? I love when Hiestand gets Ohio offensive linemen.

That's the story on Eichenberg.

Being in hard & early on his teammate Malik Vann can't hurt plus, he's in Cincy where ND has always been strong. Would be nice to get a package deal fosho.

First time seeing this kid. He's a beast. Would love to get him. We've had two really strong classes. If we get another strong class in '18, which we likely will, we'll continue to have a top OL year in and year out.

Great job Herbie.

Ran Carman out of Ohio per 11W's Lind.

CB'd him to SC.

OSU couldn't overcome the Herbie fallout and he signed with Clemson.

So much for building his wall around Ohio. Maybe his rule doesn't apply to OL.

Ha, Urbs lost four key guys down the stretch... maybe he's been having chest pains again lately?

But seriously, the writing had been on the wall on a couple of them for a while, and Carman got driven further away every time Ohio reporters questioned him about why he would want to distance himself from OSU.

He didn't like that reporters were trying to make him feel boxed in as the "hometown" kid that needed to stay at OSU, so his entire recruitment has essentially been a big middle finger to his home state and all the Buckeye crazies. I love it.

We can make fun of OSU losing recruits but they’re still the #2 ranked class on rivals. I’m glad they lost out on some guys but it’s not like their class fell apart.

this is what happens when you have the #2 class in the country

Shelly Meyer,

You need to go to Urbans office and rip that contract up and say “go get me a national championship”! This talent level can’t afford the Urban that rewards mediocrity. We need Gordon Gecco running this team. Not a guy that says “we gotta fix it” about the same problems every press conference. Shelly your kids are old now. They probably don’t want to hang around their dad now anyways. Do us a favor and rip that contract up and send a king size bed to his office so he can get back to sleeping at the office like he did in Florida
