It now appears we unfortunately aren’t doing your preferred method of allowing some upfront NIL for developed grad transfers. I know you’ve mentioned Michigan and Ohio St have similar NIL setups.

Why is Michigan having success in the portal? Granted, it is a couple of offensive line pickups, who may not care about NIL. So are we over exaggerating in comparison or is Michigan doing something different for transfers?

Also, F Michigan their recruiting class sucks.

you guys are underselling ND’s NIL from Brady Quinn and FUND. It’s very good once they’re on campus. It won’t pay acquisition fees. I support that to some extent with high schoolers. It’s ridiculous not to pay acquisition fees for proven commodity transfers.

That's the thing - it's not. A lot of folks online (including many here) and the media are lazily referring to it as one and the same. But there is NIL and then there is "NIL" (AKA "acquisition fees"). ND isn't playing that game, but the NIL game as it's intended, ND actually does pretty well. Other than, you know, not really advertising its success for some weird reason. It's like their embarrassed by it almost.

And ND sucks at it but I will listen about Kyle Hamilton now, for all of the proud supporters of f.u.n.d and NIL. Who are happy with the recruiting and transfer yields

We don’t know that we necessarily “lost out” here. I guarantee you that Purdue isn’t paying anything for NIL outside of free tickets on the next space shuttle launch.

Jaylen Sneed was a composite 5-star.

Several ND players have benefitted greatly from FUND. ND is giving their players every oppourtunity to make incentives off of NIL through FUND.

Let's be honest tho - Freeman is only saying that because he has no choice. You think if some ND-approved collective backed the BRINKS truck up to the Gug and said, "go get us a top-5 class" Freeman would decline? You think he wouldn't have fought for Keeley or Mpemba or even Fiske? Let's be real. I'm sure Freeman's saying much different things when cameras aren't rolling.
