Talk about the most redonkulous stats in America. Hall did this with ND 5 star offer Joseph Lewis and 2300 yard rusher, 5 star, Greg Johnson on his team.

Simply mind boggling for a freshman. Someone tell me these are JV #'s, please!

"My goal is to be the No. 1 wide receiver in the country. I work hard to beat that. Also, I want to be the top in my class academically. I do it for my little brothers. I want them to see that I am a good big brother and a good example of what hard work brings."

Nice, short write up. That's a Freshman saying all the right things. Me likey.

I can't speak to this kid's talent, but I do know that they play in the City Section (as opposed to the Southern Section), and City Section football is beyond awful right now. A team with Hawkins' talent is going to put up numbers like that because their competition is so bad.

Yes, their schedule is crap and I'm all about schedule strength when it comes to figuring out who can really play but a freshman putting up those kind of numbers when he has to share touches with two 5 star offensive players is still mind boggling regardless of who they are playing.

Must get.

Kid will be special if he stays out of trouble and in the books. Can't teach that size, length, athleticism. ND doesnt go out of the way to offer these kids and they made sure he got on campus and ended the trip with an offer.

*Disclaimer: I know nothing about the kid to think he will get in trouble.

I know nothing about him other than it's an overwhelming probability he goes to SC. Right? No?

Had a Sparq score of 127.02 whcih was #2 overall.

Voted the #3 Offensive player at the Opening LA Regional by 247's Barton Simmons behind Tyjon Lindsey and Stephen Carr.

Jalen Hall, WR, Los Angeles (Calif.) Hawkings (Class of 2018) – The best big receiver in attendance, regardless of classification. Hall was able to just pluck the ball away from even bigger defensive backs on a regular basis. Notre Dame is the biggest threat to USC for Hall.

This might be the most encouraging recruiting situation right now. He's basically a higher ranked Michael Floyd. Hopefully he really looked up to JMc when they were in the B2G program together.

Najee Harris and Dylan Mosses are the two best high school players in the country IMO. Marvin Wilson also looks like an NFL DT right now . Would also take DPJ over Hall but I don't think you are too far off.

Also in a couple years in this offense with Sanford I would take Jurovec over Lawrence. I think he will be silly good if he can fix his throwing motion a little bit. Lawrence will probably be the number 1 overall pick but it wouldn't surprise me if Phil had the better college career. 2018 is silly good for the QB position. Still wish ND offered Jack Sears though, that one could come back to bite us in the ass as much as I like Avery Davis

I like all the guys you mentioned, it's splitting hairs. In regards to Harris... he better stop growing otherwise he's gonna have to come to ND and be the next Jaylon. He was 6-3... barefoot in Oakland. Moses is another unbelievable talent on both sides of the ball, a pure football player. I can't comment on the Marvin Wilson's or the Rashan Gary's of the world, I'm an ND fan and don't know nothin bout those kinda guys.

I think you are right on the mark with Phil and Lawrence. The way ND is set up, Phil's the perfect guy. Lawrence's film though is like watching an NFL guy. He's off the charts. If I'm him, I'm going EE to Miami for 7 semesters w/ Richt and going #1 in the '20 draft.

Lastly... my boy Jack Sears. What else can be said? Can't wait for the services to launch him up the rankings like they did with Barnett. Film for film, he's better than Phil right now. Film for film with ND's system in mind, his film is right there with anyone's including Wimbush, Barnett Guarantano & a 6-3 Tate Martell's.

“The coaching,” said Hall, when asked what appeals most about Notre Dame. “They take stuff really serious over there. I’m really cool with the receivers coach, coach Mike Denbrock. I know if I go there, he would make me a really good player. I want to get to the league and I know that Notre Dame is a school that can get me to that level.”

“I mean, as a wide receiver, I want the rock as much as possible,” said Hall. “I want to be in an offense that throws the ball a lot and I know Notre Dame does a good job at that. But, I’m not going to lie, I love blocking some times. So, if there is a good mix between the pass and the run, that works too. They have that.”

“It’s going to get much more serious during my junior year,” said Hall. “I’m definitely taking my time. I’m going to wait until some point during my senior season. I’m in no rush. I want to take all five official visits, get a better look at everything, and then make a decision after that.

“I’m wide open to every school. I’m getting to know the schools, the offenses, and how I would fit in at each program.

“I look at quarterback depth chart, receiver depth chart. I want to play as a true freshman. I also want to know who will be my quarterback and which quarterbacks will be there and who is leaving for the NFL. So, I look at all that stuff.”

Maybe the #1 WR will like the idea of playing with a #1 QB and an O line that will give him plenty of time to get deep...

You know he's hearing that from the coaches.

Funny thing is... he may only play with Phil during the '20 season if BDub stays all 5 and that's assuming Phil passes Book and Davis and stays ahead of the '19 guy who could be a JT Daniels type.

About the only thing I'd bet on is if Jalen makes it to SB, he's there 3 years and he's gone.

I don't get the appeal of OSU to elite WR's.

That offense is a run first offense. None of their WR's have big-time production in college or go the pros knowing how to run NFL route trees. Devin Smith had the speed and talent to be a 1st round pick. The fact that he could only run one route slipped him to the 2nd. He still struggled to run routes in the NFL in year 2. They just don't teach it there. Their WR coach Zach Smith is a joke. He's not a real WR coach. Great twitter troll though. Lack of production probably cost Michael Thomas a spot somewhere in the 1st round. With his ability and size- he plays in a pro-style or pass friendly offense- he's a 1st round pick.

Couldn't you say the same about Michigan? I agree with you about the OSU thing.
