I flat out disagree with you here. Watson was 30th on rivals, 16th on ESPN and scout doesn't show but made the elite 11. Georgia recruited him very heavily and Urban Meyer did everything he could to try and flip him. Yes, they have turned some 3*s into darn good football players like Ben Boulware, TJ Green, Kevin Dodd etc etc

Clemson "elite" players or top 1-150 players out of high school, yes all aren't "elite" but damn good coming out of high school
Christian Wilkins-elite
Carlos Watkins-elite
Shaq Lawson-elite
Tryone Crowder
Cordea Tankersly -elite
Artavis Scott- damn good/elite slot WR
Kyrin Priester
Deon Cain- all the talent in the world
Ray Ray McCLoud- elite HS player
Albert Huggins
Mark Fields
Jake Frughmorgen
Clelin Ferrell
Austin Bryant
Mich Hyatt- Elite football player
Deshaun Watson
Zac Brooks

This year alone they have Hunter Johnson and Tee Higgins so far. They recruit elite football players

Sorry but elite is 5 star talent. Period. Only Alexander and Hyatt qualify. I live near Gainesville and can tell you Georgia did not go after Watson. That's been a sore subject for UGA people the last few years as Watson has developed at Clemson.

Deon Cain, Christian Wilkins both 5 star Comps in '15. Shaq Lawson was really a 5 star. He was the #1 prep school player in the country, they don't get rated on the same scale.

Alexander was #29 in the composite, Watson was #41. Is that a big difference? Watson was rated higher than Alexander by two of the four services (if I'm looking at Scout right, which I very well may not be). Their composite scores are .0061 apart.

Georgia absolutely did go after Watson. He was offered and took a visit there despite already being committed to Clemson.

Clemson commit Deshaun Watson will have recruiting pressure -- college football recruiting

Deshaun Watson: UGA target and state's No. 1-ranked prospect ... finished with flirtations | www.ajc.com

They [Georgia coaches] came to see Deshaun Watson, ESPN's No. 1-rated dual-threat quarterback prospect in the Class of 2014, a 6-foot-3, 186-pound dynamo who won a state title last fall and has accumulated, in three seasons, more all-purpose yards and passing touchdowns than anyone ever to play high school football in Georgia. ... He holds no ill will against Georgia, which waited long after Clemson and other programs to offer. Watson noted that he is, in fact, the only 2014 QB with an offer from the Bulldogs.

After wrestling with the decision for months, the state’s No. 1-ranked college football prospect says his recruitment is over.

All-world quarterback Deshaun Watson of Gainesville High School is sticking with his longtime commitment to Clemson and told the AJC he will not visit any more colleges.

Watson committed to Clemson during his sophomore season, but worried some Tiger fans by taking visits to UGA, Florida, Auburn and Florida State since then. The 5-star is the only QB that UGA has offered so far for 2014.

Like I said, he was offered and pursued hard. Clemson just got on him so early that he couldn't be swayed. Saying that he "wasn't recruited by Georgia" is just flat out untrue given that they actually put all of their QB recruiting eggs in Watson's basket for a long stretch of time and tried like hell to flip him.

Dswade Georgia went after Watson. Every school in the country would have welcomed Deshaun Watson with open arms. He's an awesome kid as well

is there any chance at all here? Best safety in a few years and we are a world of hurt at safety.

The events of the weekend should have no impact on safety recruiting for this class. Max was done after this year and none of the other players were safeties.

It shouldn't have any impact but it might. Actually seeing a Freshman starting week 1 at his position against the hometown team, as well as having another Freshman be his backup might be enough to turn some heads

Also could be a turnoff. If he wants early playing time seeing a Freshman starting at his position could be a negative. I believe that Okudah profiles more as a FS than as a SS. Now if he is versatile enough to play SS then it could help he might see immediate playing time there.
