Makes total sense to me. If you're ND, you don't want to pay for a kid committed to your top rival to come visit for a game and talk to other recruits to try to get them to give your top rival another look in recruiting.

If he really wants to come on an official, he can show he's serious by decommitting. If he doesn't want to decommit, then he can play for USC. It's not like that's a bad outcome for him.

I understand what your saying but at this point ND needs DEs/pass rushers in the worst way. so if he wants to come to ND for a visit does it really matter if he's committed somewhere else or not, just get them on campus. not sure ND is in a position to tell an elite pass rusher to stay home.

I think it makes a difference if said kid has already been on campus or not.

Some of the kids that OV committed elsewhere might not see ND without that OV. Hunter has been on campus multiple times already right?

So you wanna come on our dime at this point, might be a different story.

I agree with this. This has been a weird one right from the start.

He was committed to UCLA but came to II. His comments at II were that he was totally committed to UCLA, yet somehow all the ND recruitniks knew that he was strongly considering ND.

Then he decommits and everyone assumes it is because he wants to be Irish, but out of the blue he verbals to SC???

For some reason, I still think he ends up Irish in the end... although I have no reason to say that other than just a hunch.

No, I think he's an irrelevant player that we don't want to waste time on.
