I know there's info posted on him in various threads. I'll copy it here whenI run across it again.

Will be in town with his family for the big March 20-22 visit weekend.

Obviously, Coach Taylor recruited him to Stanford.

I sorta followed his little brother Campbell who ended up one of the Top rushers in Texas 6A history. Had 7500 yards and 120ish TD's and we'll see him some day, he signed with Navy.

Older brother Trevor had close to 10,000 yards and finished 4th all time leading rusher in Texas HS history

Yep, that's covered in another thread that needs to be imported here.

So what's his story. Was 3rd in yards in 17 and 18, and no touches in 19

Even more of a mediocre logjam in the backfield.

2020: The Emergence of Reesus Offense....

I'm totally drinking the cool-aide, and believing we're going to see Jahmir, and either CBo or Kyren step up and take charge......., with Armstrong playing a hybrid role. Hoping to see a little lightening 4 times from Tyree (Wiscy, Clemson, USC, and playoff...).

I'm most excited about the WRs though. The rotation of Lenzy, Keys, and Austin/Johnson makes me smile.

If Taylor likes Speights and we have room, I'm perfectly fine it. I'd bet he has some special teams value too.

The thing that surprises me is we apparently have room. so somebody's leaving as we are presently at 86 (?). and that somebody is probably a RB as we have 5 already.

If Spieghts is down to Rice and ND with a degree from Stanford he's serious about academics.

ND vs Rice seems like a no brainer football wise but he'd probably get 5-75 more touches at Rice.

If Taylor wants him, it tells me Taylor thinks he's better than at least one if not more of the RB's currently on the roster.

He probably would get more touches at Rice. Given the life of a RB anymore is almost nil, fewer touches (less wear and tear) may be better for him if he's interested in getting a shot at the NFL.

He'll play a much tougher schedule and have a lot more exposure wearing blue & gold.

If Taylor believes he's an upgrade for our backfield, i'm not going to argue with him. He'd know better than anyone.

I hear ya. I like Taylor -- A LOT -- but sometimes we think we can take on more than we actually can. This dude has had YEARS to prove his value and has not done so. Sample size is big enough. We have plenty of "depth" at the position, we need TALENT. I just don't see this dude as fitting that need. Hope I'm wrong though!

Silly goose! Are you under the impression that Tyree will be red-shirting??

This is where I'm at as well. Nothing against the kid, but I don't see anything that we don't already have while watching his college film.

RB has been the most frustrating position under BK for me. It's more than just the recruiting side of it. Even when we get a high level recruit, they don't see the field for the first two years despite reports from paid sites that they look great in practice. The "blocking scheme" reasoning is beyond frustrating to hear. We should've had two more years of Dex, we should've had a lot more Greg Bryant (RIP), and more Folston. How is it that EVERY other school in the country that lands elite RB prospects can have them on the field during their freshman year as a part of a very potent, high powered offense?

Something needs to change and that's my biggest hope for Taylor.

Tony Jones had to do all the dirty work last year. I’m not sure who I would point to on the current roster that would excel at blocking.

This is a very good point. It's possible the coaches may want to bring him in for pass protection and third down situations.

As for who to look for on the current roster I would say C-Bo will give you the effort and the toughness, I just don't know if he will be big enough to with stand the beating. Possibly Jahmir if he has learned the pass protection, he is also a good RB catching passes out of the backfield.

Silly goose! Are you under the impression that Tyree will be red-shirting??

Folston? He received 263 carries and 23 rec. in his first 2 seasons. His career was derailed because of injury not coaching or scheme. And, when he came back in 16' he was not the same player. They tried to get him the ball there wasn't much there. He was given more carries than Dex. Seems difficult to complain about both Folston and Dex not getting the ball enough, at the same time. Apparently Josh Adams shouldn't have played football? Even though Josh avg. 5.9 yds/carry that season which was more than both the previously mentioned players.

I still don't get how people can second guess the Dex situation this much. He was behind a guy that broke the freshman rushing record at ND. That same guy was on a path to Heisman contention as a Junior, before the season got derailed in Miami. You are supposed to take the ball out of that guys hands and miss out on a Heisman campaign, lol.

Adams, for his career, avg. more yards per carry than Dex did. In each players most productive season, Josh avg. more yards/carry than Dex did. In Adams' freshman season he avg. 7.2 yds/carry. Would Dex have also been really productive in 17'. Absolutely. Could Dex have been more productive in certain situations (like short yardage)? Sure.

We take the ball out of one talented RB to give it to another. That is the nitpicks of all nitpicks.

An eerie silence falls on IE as Koon is unable to rebuttal that Adams wasn't as good as Dex, and we will all see come their NFL careers...

The only argument I could see for Folston would be getting him more carries in 2014, when he still had 57% of the carries (Cam could've used a few less, but he only got a quarter of the carries anyways). In 2013, wasn't Folston hurt for the first half of the year? Then yeah, in 2015 he was injured Game 1 and was never the same. It's a shame, but Folston was a much more natural runner than Prosise and could've helped a bit more in the Clemson game imo.

Yea, in 14’ (As a Sophomore) Folston was the feature back with more than double the amount of carries that McDaniel got. The reason his carry share is so low was because of the zone read. Golson was 2nd on the team in carries with 114. The closest rb to Folston was McDaniel at 77 to Folstons’s 174.
