On Nov. 4, Blue & Gold Illustrated listed six players to watch who could land offers from Notre Dame sooner rather than later.

One of those players was Washington (DC) St. John's College four-star defensive end Terrell Hall. On Wednesday, the 6-5, 218-pound, class of 2016 recruit picked up an offer from the Irish.

In the article, we gave a brief caption regarding some thoughts about Hall as a player.

It's ridiculous how quick the first step is for the Washington (DC) St. John's College four-star defensive end. Hall, a 6-5, 218-pounder, has a great burst off the snap, is very strong and his overall athleticism is hard to match. Clemson, Duke, Maryland, Penn State, Tennessee, Ohio State, UCLA and others have already offered the junior edge-rusher and many others are expected to jump on board as well. Penn State is the heavy favorite according to the 247Sports Crystal Ball.

With the offer, the Irish join Clemson, Connecticut, Duke, Iowa, Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio State, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Syracuse, Toledo, Towson, UCLA and Virginia Tech as schools that have offered Hall.

Per the 247Sports Composite rankings, Hall is the No. 313 overall player in the country, the No. 18 weak-side defensive end in the land and the No. 5 prospect in Washington, DC from the class of 2016.

Nope this is good for us, IMO. It's not that OSU won't take them all but I think some of these kids will see the writing on the wall. Nick Bosa is a given as well. Robertson in his most recent interview said that he hears from OSU the least of his top 3. I'm hoping we can push past MSU here in the next few months. I'm feeling better about Robertson than I was a month or more back.

Agree with Lucky, this is good for us! Bosa is a lock and they have cooper as well.. I don't see King, Robertson and Sammons all going there and I like King bettter than all of them so this could be good for us... Ideally land King, Robertson and Kareem plus maybe Ron Johnson if we have room

Even worse, would they go after Ade now? Very realistic that they would.

DE's are getting as bad as QB's when it comes to prima donna status these days. Kid says he is the best DE in the nation then OSU goes and signs two 5 star DE's and a week later he decommits :D

I can see what you are saying; It may be more than just that.

Clearly you are correct if it is a what you see is what you get scenario.

But, we don't know how Urban romanced him.

A) If Urban sold him on limited takes at the position; or,

B) That this kid was a top get, on top of their list, in fact another Percy Harvin, so to speak; or,

C) If the handwriting is on the wall, and this kid feels he will be forced out the door for room like a couple of kids were from the '15 class,

Maybe he saw through his pitch, and decided to be proactive about improving his situation.

Can't fault him if that is the case. And with Urban, what would you expect?

Maybe he talked with Jamel Dean

Possibly it was because Bosa committed for their fourth DE. Perhaps Urban let him know he was the odd man out. OSU will lose one DE to grad.

My sources tell me OSU's staff was very unhappy with his shoe selection at their FNL and that they let him know about it, which did not set well with him. Then the signing of lil Bosa pushed him over the edge.
I mean, we all know that wearing those shoes was a cry for help, right?

Now lets just put a bow on him and his teammate Aaron Hansford and call it a day. Call housing, tell them we'll only need one room on this deal.

"Coach Gilmore said that he heard I opened up again and he'd love to coach me at Notre Dame," said Hall. "He wants me to call him and have a conversation. I haven't given him a call yet, but I will."
"The publicity they get as a prestigious school is unreal," said Hall of Notre Dame. "Not every school gets to play on NBC every week. They are a great school in terms of academics and education. At Notre Dame, you compete against top notch teams every week because they are independent. There's just a lot to like about the school."

"I'm just trying to reevaluate everything," Hall said over the phone.

"[With Notre Dame] I like what they bring to the table as far as an academic institution. It also has the publicity where you can basically play on TV every Saturday. All the games are going to be on the national stage and on NBC, so that's something that helps you get exposure.

"I know Coach Gilmore has a good history with the d-line as far as developing defensive linemen." - See more at: https://notredame.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1788895#sthash.eRKcDeq5.dpuf
"He was recruiting me real early when I was a junior," Hall said. - See more at: https://notredame.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1788895#sthash.eRKcDeq5.dpuf

From 11W:

Since it's out there on another site right now – one that I know wouldn't have run it without consent from the coaching staff – here's a bit more info on what happened with Hall.

First, he did not tell the OSU staff he was visiting Alabama the week prior to Friday Night Lights. Not only did he not tell them he was going, but when it was discovered he played it off like it was a short trip – it was a week long.

Second, OSU had set up a tour/academics presentation (lolz) for Terrell on Thursday before FNL: he did not show up.

Third, when he finally arrived at OSU on Friday, just minutes before FNL began, he was aloof and distant from his (then) future teammates.

Fourth, on Saturday morning following FNL Hall showed up at the WHAC wearing Bama gear. Yes, committed to OSU, where he was visiting, wearing Bama gear at the WHAC.

Facts are: OSU would still take him if he wanted to come back, but they won't chase.
