I was disappointed when Franklin accepted the Penn State job. Like Stanford and Notre Dame, the Vanderbilt head coach has to find academically motivated players, in order to waltz recruits through admissions. Difficult to negotiate the SEC schedule with one hand tied behind your back. I thought a young, dynamic coach would ameliorate that disadvantage. I suspect the Penn State contract is one of the best in college football. Adam McLean's season was cut short by a knee injury - 47 tackles, 10 for loss, 7 sacks.

i heard that he probably won't qualify academically and is most likely heading to prep school. This is the reason PSU dropped him.
