I’m still amazed at how effective of a DC Elmo was……..

I’ve never see one coach make the person he took over for look worse in as short a period of time as Elmo (or Elko.)

If put it 60/40 if he'd start over Bowen this year. I think he was a better player college player than Bertrand or Kiser personally.

Definitely better than Bertrand. And more of a pure MLB than Kiser.

He’s maybe my favorite ND player. Absolute stud who showed up in a ton of big games. He made the Elmo and early Lea defenses work. He wasn’t as good in coverage as Tranquill but if it wasn’t for his run stopping ability I truly believe our defense would’ve struggled in 2018. Bonner was competent but probably that defense’s weak link, Tillery was very inconsistent. Kareem was good in run defense but his counterparts often were not at that point.

Would he start on this team? Maybe, very possible that he wouldn’t. He’d be in the rotation though, no doubt

This is the second faux pas I've seen about ND football today. Someone in our group texted: "Carr did in fact take 1st team snacks for the duration of practice on Wednesday." My first thought as a former lineman and current fat guy: WHAT ARE THESE SNACKS, AND WHAT SNACKS DO 2ND TEAM PLAYERS GET?! I HAVE ELIGIBILITY!

Yea. It would be him v. Bowen. And I just don't know. Bowen is more athletic but Coney was a true thumper. Junior year Coney was fun!
