1 million vbucks Irishog77 makes a Heggie comparison

Dude, I've been late to the party like the last 5 times thread circumstances merited a Heggie reference! The good news, though, is even with him graduating this year, I/we can still milk AT LEAST another 3-4 years out of that one!

Reminds me of a young Carlo Calabrese.

#Beast

This guy won the thread tonight.

And for the record, Kolin Hill reminds me of Wes Welker. Mmmaaayyyybe Joe Jurevicius.

From watching his tape, he sure isn't shy about letting the world know who made the tackle.

Most likely will turn out to be an outstanding role player, and provide quality depth on our preferred football team. He does some things really well, and others he can develop upon.

With that being said it seems we have a few developmental prospects in this class which could prove to be very valuable down the line. Williams and Hill are both developmental prospects in my mind and will not be asked to contribute until their third year at least. Hopefully the development happens sooner, but I am happy with these individuals developing into quality depth players as juniors and seniors. This is just my perspective, and as I have said I am very happy with both individuals on our roster because both have tremendous upside, I just see them as role players in the future.

i dont think Hill is as big of a developmental prospect as people think. As long as he learns his playbook I think he can contribute pretty early. He has the violence in him as a HS player already we all wish Ishaq would have. If Shembo can contribute as he did with average pass rushing skills then there is no reason Hill can't make some waves early in his ND career

Besides the fact he spells his name wrong, this is awesome. The best part about his film to me is his speed and length. He plays a lot taller than his listed 6'2" and doesn't seem like he'll get burned on TE crossing routes or runs outside the tackle like we frequently saw earlier this season. I'm very excited about him as a prospect.

Part of it is he is broad and apparently long armed. But I agree with you, to me I wouldn't be surprised if he were 6'4"!

Bingo. Neither he nor Sykes. We get Morgan, we have not only filled inside. We have upgraded. With mostly respectful guys.

I apologize I didnt read the post from the previous page. I'm honestly curious on what you see similar to Clowney.

GB, I thought Prat-Super Hero was right, too! Here is what I saw and I think JC is an apropos comparison :

1) Well coached mature young man;
2) Explosive first move;
3) Offensive linemen seem to recoil and not be set (sometimes opponents reactions are worth reading, too);
4) Talented, violent hands;
5) Looked bigger, with a higher motor than the competition;
6) Ability to set the edge;
7) Ability to do more than one thing/play more than one player;
8) Unusual quickness;
9) Desire; absolutely looking like a predator running more than one quarry down on a play. Seriously, I have seen fox run down rabbits in my back yard. A couple of those plays looked the same.

Simply put, if the networks had
**** by his name, everyone would be drooling. This kid has a high motor, quick hands, long arms, and the staff seems to really like him. Good enough for me.

Thank you! A voice of reason cries out in a wilderness of stupidity, (myself included!)

If he can add 20 lbs he could be the next Mike Alstott.

Wait...is this the mysterious FB we have been looking for?

Oh no you didn't! Don't ever compare a thinner man to a thicker man, or call a taller man taller. They will crucify you! Especially when you want to compare something so esoteric as hand play or playing an offensive linemen laterally down the line of scrimmage! They will eff your eye sockets!

And thus ends the authors rant on a lack of creativity, stimulating conversation and free sex over the internet!

Isn't that the truth!

I'd really like to know his wingspan. He plays so much taller than 6'2". The kid is long as hell.

Yeah, Mike Frank said he is "all of" 6'2" with extremely long arms. Said he isn't as thick as Shembo, but at a legit 6'2" with his violent use of hands + his reach I could see him being darn good.

Agreed. I'd rather have the guy with the leverage and pad level of a 6'2 guy with the arms of a 6'4 guy than a 6'4 guy with high pad level and shorter / average arms. He has great physical traits to be a really good pass rusher / defender.

I thought he was also very well spoken and seemed like a great fit. Easy guy to root for at the next level.

I think 6'2" is the ideal size for a college LB. I think its basically as tall as the vast majority of people can get (thus allowing maximum length and weight gain potential) without losing too much balance and coordination. It's kind of like why most PGs are not over 6'0". You may want taller pros, but the NFL is a freak show.

I am always skeptical when they get over 6'4". Is Councell an exception? I don't know, but Spond and Smith are a both a little shorter.

Our CATs are a little different, since they are glorified WDEs.
